Ok, seeing every other Capital division has a thread, I thought Capital 10 deserved one.....I manage the Karori Rovers.....and play as their keeper.

Any other Div 10 players out there?

Now that sucks big time steve, the two team too look out for have moved on - usual suspects Island Bay and Naenae. U.H Marauders aren't bad but they have an old guy who refs their games - he is terrible/ LH Roundballs have moved up from 11 a few yrs ago, same team. We moved up last season and got killed, we weren't really ready - Waterside Rovers. Uni is just a bunch of fit young lads from what i remember they beat us pretty badly at Anderson last year......we were sh*te though.
Looking forward to playing you BNU lads this year, we had some pretty good games against you in div 11.

Nah, no stretcher needed. Watched 2nd half then drove to hospital, wasn't too bad.

I was playing in goal, our (Phat Boys) 3rd game v Tartan Army. Got my hand to a shot from about 5m out. Only problem was he'd hit it real hard. Got myself a nice big V shape fracture and a few smaller cracks in Radius arm bone.

we lost 2-0 anyway, should have just let it in!

Yip, I remember Upper Hutt from year before when they were in 11.

We've got the same squad as last year, so hoping to do OK. I've only been with them the past 2 seasons, but you'll recognise most of the guys if you played before, theyve been playing together years.

Don't look forward to playing us too much. Even if my rain dance fails Happy Valley will still be a sh*t hole!

Well the first week's done and dusted.....a 3 - 3 draw against Uni Beavers on a flooded Karori Park #3. Pleased we were playing the early game as I heard the 2:30 games were abandoned....

Upper Hutt are beatable, we ran them pretty close on the weekend, probably should have won. On the bright side they were giving their ref more crap then we were so I don't know how long he'll be hanging around!

Aces were solid last year in cap11, ran neck and neck with us right through the season, assuming they've kept the same players they're a decent team.

See you have stopout this week. We had them in first game. They were terrible in first half, and great in the second, will probably give you a good game.

Yeah providing the weather holds up, we seem to play pretty well in the wet...........I'm hoping we can put a second win on the board, can't afford to drop too many points this early. Good luck with the Olympic team this week, haven't seen them play this year.

yeah the Aces are top notch, got nailed twice by them last year when i played with uni-brow in 11. Fast fowards and old but solid defence!

Looks like it could be a tight race for the top of the division, Karori Aces are a good team but are conceeding a lot of goals lately, seem to be scoring heaps to - according to the latest wharfies newszletter they are the only Karori team in Div 10! or at least the only one doing well. One day the Waterside Rovers will get noticed!

Question, has any other team in the grade experienced the Olympic (not the TFTs) version of reffing. The guy who ref'd the first half was half decent, the dude in the second half was crap! In fact I'd say he either didn't know the rules or he was outright cheating!!!

anyone else stuggled with these guys?

Looks like it could be a tight season, heaps of draws

P W D L GF GA Pts
Karori Aces 9 6 1 2 24 16 19
Waterside Rovers 9 4 4 1 21 13 16
U/Hutt Marauders 9 4 4 1 15 10 16
Brooklyn Northern 9 3 4 2 13 11 13
Uni Beavers 9 3 3 3 18 17 12
Stop Out Rebels 9 3 1 5 20 20 10
LHC Roundballs 9 2 4 3 18 23 10
Olympic Tft's 9 2 3 4 12 19 9
Western Suburbs 9 2 2 5 15 20 8
Olympic 9 2 2 5 15 22 8

I finally got back on the pitch this weekend, our 10 men played out a decent 0-0 with the Aces in the wind at Ngatitoa.

Pretty bizare, but Ryan Nelson was there... stayed through the wind and rain and watched the whole game. Looked like he was enjoying it (or at least laughing quietly to himself at the skills on show)! He didn't want to make up our numbers though :(
