After winning Cap13 in 2008 bit surprised to end up in Cap14 but i guess given the weather of the last 2 years 8 per Div makes sense.

We (sinners) won 2-1. LH DDs gave us a few problems towards the end of the 1st half, but we slowly got control of the game and scored a couple of goals, the 2nd one a hint of offside. A combination of LH trying to get something out of it and us defending too much saw some applied pressure for the last 10min from LH, resulting in a penalty from a handball which LH converted and turned out to be the last kick of the game. DDs were a good bunch of guys to play, good fun all round.

Looking forward to weekends game. Funny how draw has the 4 winning v 4 the losing teams from week 1. Having been in same division for couple of seasons it is good to play new teams each week, bit of variety and all that.

Managed to watch a bit of Nth W v Flamingos. Not much in it. Thought Nth W battled well, hard without the rolling subs to get fresh legs on when yah need them. Midfield battle was interesting.nzyido2009-04-12 07:50:44

When did you watch? We dominated the first half and should have been up more than 1-0 at half time. Uni started to get on top of us in the 2nd half and their superior pace and fitness (with them rolling subs) resulted in 2 goals and a cracking goal gave them a 3-1 lead. We made a few adjustments which saw us come back into the game strongly at the end, missing a penalty and scoring with about 5 or so to go to make it 3-2. Had a chance for a draw, just didnt fall our way.

Uni took there chances well, something we didn't do especially in the first half.

Watched last 10min of 1st half and left with 10-15 to go. One of your lads was laid out in the penalty box. Looking forward to this weeks game!!

Sucks about DDs defaulting. I was hoping to see what the score was to gauge where we are at. Having played Marist Loaded last year and being competitive with them in shocking conditions, it is a bit worrying that you put 5 past them.

Porirua really should have been promoted higher!  I expect them to win Cap 14 this season.  They play well organised good quality football, with some skillful players in key positions.

Cheers for that Jim. Dont know about higher but it is a bit strange that the Karori Swifts who finished mid table in our Div last season are in Cap 13 this year.  We are enjoying coming up against different teams, after 3 years of the same division.

Yeh!  The Swifts were not that much better than Mana when we played them!  Strange indeed.  I personally think you should have been in Cap 12 or 13.  Yes it is good to have a change (you will miss the Goldenrods this year!).

My team got its first point this week in a 3-3 draw  ...I scored twice!!  Miracle......

Toough match on Sat PC v Nth W. Nth W started the better and edged the 1st half. Nth W took the lead scoring at the near post following a counter attcak, 1-0 @ 1/2 time. Some stern words from the captain and a reshuffle of the formation and PC started to look more like their old selves. A good strike from the edge of the box saw PC level the scores, from then on PC pushed on scoring another 3 for a hard fought 4-1 win. nzyido2009-04-22 07:35:49

Yeah, we played pretty well overall. I think that you guys were a bit quicker/more aggressive in winning the 50/50 ball and closing down attacks. Personally I wasnt happy with my performance. Good game though. Not sure what it is but all the game so far this season have been more pleasing on the eye than last season.

PC v IS B Rampage. a verbally niggly game with both sides guilty of moaning at each other as well as the ref. PC had the better of the eraly stages of the 1st half with Rampage looking to attack via sending long balls over the defence. PC opened the scoring after about 15 minutes then added another two quick goals before IsB replied thru a corner (disappointing marking (no names)). Then a bit of controversy with IsB awarded a penalty only for keeper to push it on the cross bar (justice). PC managed another two before 1/2 time for a 5-1 score line. PC opened 2nd 1/2 with an early goal. Fairly even 2nd 1/2 with still a lot of molly moaners on the pitch. PC fininshed of the 1/2 by adding another 2 goals late on for a final result of 8-1.

Top of the table clash this week (weather permitting). A mini break away already with both teams having a 6 point break on the pack.
