CAPITAL 15:
Olympic              __    Western Suburbs Red  __    Miramar 2 (12.30);
IBU Vauxhalls        __    Brooklyn Northern    __    Wakefield 4 (2.30);
Wainui Halfbaked     __    Uni Goldenrods       __    Prouse 2 (2.30);
Western Suburbs Blac __    Lower Hutt DDs       __    Adventure 2 (2.30);

Most of the teams from 2008 are back again...except the Sealads are no more, the Stevedores are in Cap 14 and the Uni Bombers have moved their Zimmerframes to Masters 4.

For the mighty Rods its another year of same old, same old.

One result - Wainui 6-Uni 3.

Congrats to Wainui, a good game that was 4-3 until the last five minutes.  Nice game to start the season - ground not too hard, we had 12 turn up despite being Easter, and strung nice plays together that kept us competitive for most of the match.

New look Grade this year with Uni Cycles, the Nighthawks and Seatoun coming up from 16.

The Seatoun side will clean everyone up, but then get promoted in the first half promo relegation.  Plenty of variety this season with the mid-season movement.

Opening week:
CAPITAL 15:
Naenae __ IBU Rampage __ Naenae 1 (12.30);
Wainuiomata __ Seatoun __ Prouse 3 (12.30);
Nth Wgtn Fiji __ Western Suburbs __ Raroa (12.30);
Uni Cycles __ Lower Hutt DDs __ Nairnville 1 (2.30).
Oh yeah.  The Nighthawks are sometimes good, often rubbish.  Already lost a couple to injry before the season has even started.

We played the North Wellington Cap 15 side last night.
The keeper from the council team plays for them, News.
They played pretty well. Hard working team. We beat them though, By a few I think too.

You sure it was 15?  The nth Wellington side in 15 is the Fijian boys isn't it?

You're talking the side that used to be Brumbies until he got delusions of adequacy.

Cap 14 Sinners.

So four big margins.  SOme first day nerves?

I know the Rampage were a bit short so grabbed one of our players and a couple of mates of ours who were on the sidleine with kit until their re-inforcements arrive.

Hell of a day for football though.  Superb.

CAPITAL 15:
Naenae Nighthawks     8    IBU Rampage           2
Wainuiomata           2    Seatoun               6
Nth Wgtn Fiji         4    Western Suburbs       1

Nighthawks look like we have misplaced a centre-back with a borked Hammy but have NZCopley back from Groin injury for the first time in close to a year.

Rampage have signed on one of our loanees from last week as well, he's playing for them at happy valley.

What are the odds on Judd borking the groin again within 5 minutes of being on the pitch?

The day has dawned. Been waiting for this for 13 months. Feel good and am confident the newfound fitness and speed of Cosmo will be enough to cover my arse...............EG I'll give you $1.30 in first half.

Started my warm up already

Fitness?  Funny.

CAPITAL 15:

Naenae Nighthawks __ Western Suburbs __ Naenae 2 (12.30); Lower Hutt DDs __ IBU Rampage __ Fraser 4 (12.30); Nth Wgtn Fiji __ Wainuiomata __ Raroa (12.30); Uni Cycles __ Seatoun __ Anderson (2.30);

We'll try desperately to stay ahead of Seatoun before they kill us at Crawford next week.

Fingers crossed for the weather.

Rampage turned up with only 8 players. Double Ds only had 11 so couldn't lend them any. So they defaulted.

Still played a friendly though.

DDs played Seatoun last week. Was talking with one of their players and they original played I think for Miramar, but changed clubs and Capital Football put them down into 16. They used to play Cap 5.

So Dom Post got it wrong, or there was another one...

Wouldn't surprise me, there seems to be some scuffles every week

We've had no major issues so far this year apart from one touchy individual in green and white.

Somehow it missed the online version.  Was in the printed one.

Nice result for you lads today.  Did you get a few of your players that had been out back?

Wests did us a HUGE favour.
