Lol Should swap the 2nds with the Hypocrites

You should swap with that Petone team in our grade after the first round.  We havnt played them yet.  Then it can be the nighthawks vs the Hypocrites

wow- this poll rivals even my obsession with Div 9- Salmon Utd FTW_ we'll scrape into finals series and stack the team with "free Scoring" Hachim Kamri and 2nd Best, dust off Le Hugo and get Roscoe to tech us a few moves.

(actually i think Naenae will take it out- although the 3-0 win over us was a flattering score- we just couldnae finish)

petone will make a run for the line in the 2nd half. gotta have faith in your own. mind you we will likely change our name to tawa

me too. everyone at the top will lose and get no points for the rest of the season and petone/tawa will slide right through.

It will be interesting how they work out points and goal differences after the swap, guess they allocate you the middle results in each grade so they lose some and you gain some.

Shame we've already played them which means I'll probably miss a chance to be kicked by Bullfrog.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Hey Hard news

I will be available to take a penalty for you guys this week, just yell out to me on the field next to you guys.

i had heard that they may just start both of us on a clean slate. it would suit us as its a vast improvement but would hurt tawa. would be unfair to suffer after replacing a team out of their depth though.

hope for tawas sake they do a calc of some sort

When are you changing?
Permalink Permalink
almost 17 years ago · edited over 13 years ago
not sure yet. things are being checked out to make sure it is def wanted. the earliest poss switch would be after this weekends games but the best for cap 9 would be the week after so everyone has played us once. gives a fair midground and naenae aren't short changed by playing  the harder of the two of us twice

You guys got off to the worst possible start conceding a goal after about 30 seconds.

Hypocrites to win it easy. When they've got guys, well ok one guy that is 40 years old and still good enough to play for our Premier team I think they've definitely got the goods.

Not sure how the voting's gone so odd - Skins to win?!?! I've gone for Naenae, but looking out for playing Seatoun this week.

Permalink Permalink

You guys and Seatoun should be the match of the round.  Should be a very good even game.

Just wondering do any of the teams in this train during the week.  It was really concerning seeing the petone chuggers  warming up doing drills with cones layed out on the pitch.

What happen to the days where every just kicks the balls at the keeper all at once?

hasnt really helped them too much though has it.

i think a lot of them have had injuries in past seasons from not warming up hence the small games and warmups.

half the time we dont even get to a point of kicking balls at the keeper. we usually just get onto the pitch for kickoff.

lower hutt - our training involves 20 mins of rifling at the keeper before kickoff.  I'd be laughed out of the team if i suggested mid week training

more training energy needs to go into goal celebrations- whole team choregraphy

distinctly average this season

The swap will go ahead this weekend with Tawa AC replacing Petone. Good luck to them for the rest of the season. Hopefully they will have a more successful time than us...not exactly hard though is it

And to the rest of you...I'm sorry for those who were expecting an easy result from playing us (especially the Chuggers)

Best of luck in Div 16- theres a good Wgtn Utd side in there who got done by the AC's-  looking forward to meeting them- maybe they can take your place in thsi poll too?

Thanks. I'll still be floating around in this div and a few others. Being a keeper I go where the games are or where the best offers are. I'll be playing for the Chuggers this weekend against Marist and probably for a few other weeks. Hopefully I won't be in too bad a shape on Saturday.

I'm not sure if there are any players from Tawa AC on these forums but neilwgtn was the person who made the approach on their behalf.

Does any know whats going to happen with the table

Its seems a bit unfair on the two teams that havent played Petone.

Its not a perfect solution as for example there are other misplaced teams who have been working their way up the leagues who perhaps should have got the vacant div 9 slot (it would have taken 7 promotions to get that high!!!).  Its a bit lucky for anyone who havent played Tawa AC in Div 16 yet too!

Also probably not fair for Petone to inheriot ACs div 16 points...

I dont envy league over this one.

Having said all that it was obviusly silly to keep the two teams where they were.......

I'm not sure we inherit their points. It has been rumoured that we either start with a clean slate or we get assigned the average points of the table. Only time will tell though.

But yes I agree it isn't an ideal solution but it is a solution.

I think a good idea would be change all the wins against petone into 2-0 wins.  This makes it fairer for goals for and against.  football512009-05-13 13:10:55

anyone know what the deal is going to be with the table?  I see they have wiped any games played against Petone - but it seems that the teams who didnt play against them (ie tawa bears and naenae) theoretically get an advantage in an extra game (though Naenae lost it anyway).  Probably wont matter at the end of the season anyway, but does seem a bit weird

Wouldnt have a clue. Maybe next time we play tawa it wont count for points in the league.  Should of waited until the end of the first round to change the teams around.

Had a good game against Seatoun yeasterday. They scored 2 goals when I felt we had a slight upper hand. Then, when they had some ascendancy, they scored another one. Oh well. A late goal for us was pretty much irrelevant

Hopefully their accident-prone centre-back is not permanently affected by his mishaps!

I'm still picking Naenae for the grade though

Salmon 1- LHC 1 on a prisitne Newtown Park (0-0 at Ht)
pretty even game, LHC prob deserve the points but a lot of teams have dismissed the Salmon at their peril. for a bunch of old uselss c*nts we put up a good fight,

other results in div 9?

We got thoroughly beaten by the Tawa AC team. The game was a little more even than 4-1 suggests, but it was a lot of fun and played in a really good spirit. Our small squad and injury propensity is really hurting us this year.

not sure if anyone still checks this discussion board - but wanted to say thanks to naenae for a good game on the weekend.  Our first game v them was acrimonious to say the least.
This time the result didnt go our way but definitely more enjoyable and played in a better spirit.  The official ref probably helped and I noticed one notable omission from their side from last time.  Cheers and look forward to playing next season if we both get promoted (is it two teams?)

Agree, it was a most enjoyable game to be part of.  I think the official ref was the key.  I found it funny how Ben got sent off, he was the main person who starting the trouble in the first game we played with an ugly two footed tackle and his dad that was the ref didnt do anything about it. Also sin binning in a game of soccer whats that about?

I thought him getting red card with a bit hash, but one thing you dont do is swear at officials.

After that red card, it seem to helped your team. Last 15min we were just holding on to our lead.

I thought your keeper pulled off some great saves early in the second half.  We still may be play you guys again this season in the cup comp.  But Likelihood is not good with the weather we have been having.

Your game against Tawa should be a good hard game this week. Tawa has got a couple of not bad players up front and in the midfield.

Good luck for Saturday
