Salmon. Stop Out looking a lot stronger this year. They might give you a run for the Cup or League Champions, but defintely stronger than last season.

Well welcome Spurs Crazy and Sid Vicious

Use this thread for friendly banter, arranging refs, kit clashes and general dialogue,
I remember playing Stop Out when the yf forum started and the banter was great- you beat us 2-1 at home and then we took you out 5-2 on a sodden Trafalgar on the last day of the season to give Sealords the title.

There must be forumites form the other 5 teams on here? i know Seatoun FC had a forumite last season.

Good luck to all teams tomorrow.

Is everyone managing to scrape a team together? we had 11 at last count.

Yep the UH Saints will be a force if they pushed aside the Legends like that.

We had a surprise on Saturday when Tawa Saintz turned out to be Tawa AC- whats the deal with that?

Thats good for us, means we wont have to play the AC team from last season.  See Lower hutt went up to Cap 7 after finishing 2nd & Marist went up to Cap 8.

we replaced another LH team in div 7 which pulled out.  Thought we'd take the opportunity to skip the div 8 doldrums on our way up to Premier domination

Stop Out had 5 on the bench on Saturday!
Actually WU terrace in Div 8 are looling for a goalkeeper and a goalscorer- not a fwd mind, someone who can score goals

Yeah I think that was just a mix up from the tables posted online, they had swapped us (AC United) with the Saintz who are in Div 8. All sorted now though!

Pretty stoked to move to the top of the table after our hard fought 1-0 win over the previously first place Stop Out.

good, close game on Newtown #1 yesterday, Bears edging out the Salmon 3-2 after Salmon were 2-1 up at half time- could have gone either way-Stop Out and ACs are form teams and will be hard to peg back.

Relegation dog fight ahoy for Salmon, Gulls and Stewsmum

Well, seeing as it is top of the table versus 2nd bottom the bookies will no doubt be offering good odds on an AC win- bit what type of captain would i be if i didn't think we could win it?

I do believe we are underachieving this year, in fact we pushed you to the end in our last encounter.

in the spirit of fraternity i predict 2-2, although we'll have to work hard to get a result

BTW i thought you guys were great to play last time, minimal niggle and backchat-lets keep it up

Yeah that game was definitely not a walk in the park (slight pun intended I guess) so we were surprised to see you down the other end of the ladder. Still, seasons not over by any means!

Good to hear about the minimal niggle/backchat, likewise with you guys. Its always difficult when the refs come from the opposing teams though isn't it. I've had to ref a little bit this season, much harder than playing!

well, we have lacked what may be termed a killer instinct after leading games at the break and then tailing off- we have definitely seen an improvement in the last two weeks though.  game on for Saturday

Where are the other div 9 teams on here i wonder?

Re; Tawa Ac vs Salmon

Tawa thoroughly deserved to win, but maybe the score line flattered a bit. We (salmon) didn't have anything to offer in the second half (apart from one shot on target from 30 yards, and afew nice passing moves). But the first half was very even, in fact i think we were the better team in the first half. If Nic, our centre half's header had gone in from point blank range from the free kick to make it 1-1 it may have been a different game- but thems the breaks.

I think 2 nil might have been a fairer reflection of the ebb and flow of the game but you guys took your chances- so well done.

We were a bit cobbled together too after losing a few to illness and injury, it really has beena tough season for us in this regard.

Anyway, thats 2 from 2 for Tawa over us, i though we pushed you as much as we could and if luck had gone our way over the two encounters our tails might have been up enough to take some points.

Yeah I'd say thats a pretty fair summary.. not sure about you being the better team in the first half though it was pretty close.
We were pretty stoked to have our goal difference improved, our games have been pretty low scoring wins so far. Hoping Stop Out stumble this weekend to increase the gap at the top!

Yes, it was even in first half-But i think we had more run of play, and definitely more clear cut chances to score, which we squandered

Thanks, and good luck to you- hope you win so you get out of our league!!!

Our game this weekend vs Seatoun is simply a must win if we are to pull oursleves from the cellar, but I suspect there will be a lot of cancellations this weekend, and we could be in for a rest

Well done Tawa AC United, taking out Div 9 in 2010.

The top three were far and away the three best sides, and personally I thought Stop Out were a very handy side- young too so they'll move up the ranks. Also, ill say that this was one of the friendliest and fairest seasons we have had in yonks, although some of the aprt time refs could do with a rules refresher- but then again so could everyone. Thanks to all the teams involved this year.

Salmon had our worst ever season- previously we had never finished lower than 6th (in 10 team leagues). Looking fwd to the cup, seems a fairer split of the teams than last year- looking fwd to a first up challenge against AC United- Hopefully they have doen a Spain and are still hungover when they play us next week ~

Cheers man, the whole team was pretty happy. Finished the league with a (closer than the scorelines suggests) 2-0 win in the top of the table clash with Stop Out on Saturday!

Yeah Stop Out were a very good team, one of the friendlier out of the lot too. Our roughest games seemed to be against the Bears, a bit of interclub rivalry! I've had to ref a couple of halfs this season and can't say its very fun, especially without the aid of any of the subs or supporters helping run the lines. Found out you have to be very decisive and loud lol.
