Capital Footy - Masters 4

Anyone playing in this grade?

My first year of Masters, not sure what to expect to be fair. In a newly created North Welly team.

hey, this is my second season in masters 4, playing for the island bay internationals. 

Is good fun.

Might run into me from time to time.  Injured currently but might be on the bench/playing for our Masters when it doesn't clash with the Nighthawks.

3 out of the four winners were the away team, that's unexpected.

I was watching the firsts on the other pitch LeighBo.  I saw most of that 3 goal blitz though.

I blame Cosmo.

I was the player who scored direct from the corner. It certainly had a bit of curl on it but I was less surprised by the goal than I was by the fact that it missed every player including the keeper given it was delivered into the 6 yard box

NW Zimmers had an awful game, couldn't string two passes together but hopefully that's out shocker out of the way after a great first game of the season.

Also, anyone who plays at Raroa, keep your shots away from the right hand post of the goal nearest the road. It got pinged on 5 separate occasions with not one of them going in.

Yeah in the first round we also had a shot hit the inside of that post, and it flew across the goal to hit the other post and somehow stayed out. Would have put us back in the game.

That post is possessed! (edit: I mean the goal post, not your post)

I can only surmise that is is haunted by an ex-defender or goalkeeper who passed away at the old folks place next door...

Was a helluva game between Zimmers and Onslows under lights (when they eventually came on).

What the hell are Petone Armani's doing in Masters 4?!?!

Weren't they Capital 3 last season?!?!!

You have to start at the bottom and work your way up.

Masters 4 isn't the bottom

5 is over 40s primarily though isn't it?

Might have a solution with doing a swap for a team that doesn't want to be so high

Turtles or Fossils?

Turtles. Getting pushed back up to 2 after all the hard work getting relegated is a bit much

No Petone team last season from memory

Swap with Petone - apparently they want to start higher.

Looks like a long, exciting season ahead for teams in M4 this year with 12 teams...

Suddenly, we have become a popular grade for fallen Capital teams and higher Masters teams. All striving for the mid-table finish, huh!
