So...we were an average cap 3 team yet you still expect to win the league (which you seem reasonably confident of)??!!  Either you think every team in cap 3 is average (which they are in the grand scheme of things) or you have an over-inflated view of how good your team is

We do have a good team, when half of them aint away on holiday.  And im sure we wont play that poorly again this season.  And as your side struggled to beat 10 men I would say that your an average side in my opinion.

I agree we did struggle to beat your team with 10 men, but at the same time we played better 1st half when we were playing against 11 men, and it was 2-2 when your player got sent off.  Not looking to get into a big argument, but your team was pretty average (withstanding the fact that you were missing half your team).  Look forward to the return leg.

So from all this trash talk i gather full strength Upper Hutt should be pretty much unbeatable in their eyes? Only played Tawa and Island Bay so far but Tawa seemed pretty strong, well organised and Island Bay very tough not scared of a physical game. What are Waikanae like? I see they lost to Douglas Villa in the cup, Villa at best an average Wairarapa Local League team.
Been pretty impressed with the standard so far in the games i have been involved in.

sounds like Upper Hutt have set the bar here. is the old boy Brendon (Homer) still turning out for them?

Who is this Brendon you speak of.  We have no Brendon at our club.
If he ran out of the changing room it would be more running than he does on a field.
He is coaching the thirds this season.

Still a few away,  but a stronger performance than the week before.  Pleasing to have another clean sheet.  Created plenty of chances again, but conversion rate needs to be better.  As the better sides in the grade can punish you if you don't kill them off when you should.

It will be interesting to see Rapa and Waikanae's results as they are both at home - seems they may be strong at home but maybe a few players maybe not willing to travel to Wgtn - hope I am wrong!!

Does the winner of the Kapiti league for this season get free entry into Cap 3 again for next season?

Time for some karori banter here... We got beaten fair and square by Upper Hutt last week but looking forward to a battle with fellow cellar dwellers Yrapa this week for the first points for the mighty COUGGAARRRSSS.

We were unlucky against north wellington, coulda/shoulda picked up at least a point there...
It will come, and when we get our game on, beware!!!

Recken Island Bay will atleast pick up a point against upper hutt. Saw 18 or 20 guys training pretty hard the other night all looked fairly fit too so may give division favorites a good run for there money

I'm picking there will be an upset in one of the games tomorrow.

If I say this for each grade I should at last get it right once

Watched Lower Hutt play Tawa on Saturday (Lower Hutt City       2    Tawa                  4)

Two things:
LH players (defenders) were ABUSIVE of the referee and really need to understand self respect and self control.

The decision of the day. Tawa and LH player clashed/fell over. Seemed to me Tawa player (14) fouled LH player. Tawa player then kicked out. Obviously he was off and it was a free kick/pen to LH.  Ref gave Tawa a fre klick...
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

wonder who the 14 player was... ? description?

But we have learnt to not answer back to the ref and let him do his job.. thats why Upper hutt lost...
but that one sounds like it should have gone lower hutts way.. would it have mattered??

We have only had 1 yellow card this season.. and that was a silly tackle from a player who should have known better..  (im sure he will comment about that one)!!

The said players have no excuse for being abusive, but you do wonder how frustrated they must get when there are such decisions as you have described!!! but you still dont abuse the ref, if that is what he did??

I played 14 that game.. I got completely taken out before I coudl even challenge for the ball, if that was me fouling the LH player then you have a very 'unique' view of the laws of the game.

.... as for kicking? im hoping you are not a referee yourself as your eyesight is terrible

Lh shouldn't feel hard done by the ref, remember you got a free kick (which you scored from) when your player stood on the ball and fell over

The problem with playing in Cap 3 is that generally the referees will be either new and do not really understand the game, or they aren't up to refing a high level.  But that's a fact of life. Not every ref is going to be a Colina just as the players aren't ever going to play EPL. When a striker misses a sitter from 6 yards you don't get the ref yelling at him saying what a muppet he is. Players need to understand that at this level Refs will make plenty of mistakes but as long as they're consistent (good or bad) then it usually it balances out.
I would much rather have a situation where you have a ref rather than have players or coaches refing because all the lower grade refs have flagged because of the abuse they recieve. If the ref makes a shocker, shake you head, walk away and accept it. But don't abuse them.

Great call there Sinus especially about the strikers missing for 6 yards out, heck that still happens in Cap Prem, let alone cap 3

Thanks for your brown nosing of the referee's nomad and sinus.  On to more important topics - what are the picks for the weekend - Tawa to get the ref 's favour again??  Brooklyn to lose again??  Lower Hutt to whinge all game at the ref again (and lose - again)??

Your thoughts ?

Picks this week
CAPITAL 3:
Wairarapa United     4    Brooklyn Northern    0    Howard Booth;
Upper Hutt City        3    Waikanae                 1    Harcourt 1;
Tawa                        2    North Wellington       0    Kura;
Island Bay Magic      4    Lower Hutt City        0    Wakefield 4;
Karori Cougars        1    Kapiti Coast United    0    Karori 3.

Tawa should win with their 2 "average" midfielders back
and hopefully shouldnt conceed any without me playing.

But i think some games might be cancelled.

Looks pretty sound - Tawa's luck must run out - some of there back four and midfield should be playing masters - I am picking a 2-0 win to North Wellington

Should be a good game that one, as Nth Wgtn certainly had the better of Upper Hutt in the second half last week.  With a bit more luck in front of goal, the result may well have been different.
