Feverish don't be a hater ... its early days we know that but join in with our happiness to a good start of our first year in Central League

Some jealousy setting in. It is a tough place to stay though. Even harder to get back.

I need to deeply apologise for my comments above.  I have been wrong in my comments, as it is against the best interests of "Wairarapa" Football.  I should be taking a page out of Phil's book, and supporting "Wairarapa" Football as much as possible, including not commenting on here with everything negative about what he is trying to achieve for the interests of "Wairarapa" Football.  Thanks for setting the record straight today with me Phil, and wish you all the best with your "Wairarapa" Central League Team, and any venture you have with the "Wairarapa" ASB Bid.

And another seven in Napier today. That's 37 for the round. Average 7.4 goals a game. Great to be a spectator. Nice to be a striker. Not much fun being a defender

Quote from Wairarapa Times Saturday's edition

"Keinzley and United will go in to the game knowing that table leaders Wellington Olympic will be travelling to a potential banana skin fixture at Upper Hutt.

Olympic are on a roll but Upper Hutt are unbeaten and if they were to secure a home win, plus United picking up the spoils against a Lower Hutt side yet to register a victory, then the points gap will be reduced significantly"

Seems to be a  need for better keepers in some of these teams!

Do Wairarapa actually believe they have a real chance of getting an ASB Prem team?

There are many reasons they wont but the glaring one is the travel hassle for most teams to get to the place or more importantly to get out of the place.

The Wairarapa do in fact have an airport. Problem is, that Air New Zealand only fly between Masterton and Auckland, and I think it is only 5 days a week. So if you have to travel here from Auckland, you either fly into Palmerston North and bus over, or come down on the Friday night, and head back Monday. Not ideal, even for National League. I would think that NZF would take all factors into account when working out the best case/worst case for the bids. My point I am trying to make is that I support Wairarapa Football 110%. The key word is Wairarapa. We have seen over the past years, local players slowly being moved out of the chances to play Central League or higher by players that are brought in for the $$$, and not the passion to play for the area they are brought up in. Douglas Villa Fc Masterton AFC and now Greytown Fc have established Capital Football status by maintaining the use of local players, and giving them a stepping stone to higher things. Ok Wairarapa United have now established an academy for the school kids to be involved in, but how long before parents think it is not worth their money to send their kid, only to have them not make that final step because they have been moved out by "imports" looking at making money? Maybe a different forum to be posting this on?

Saw the last 60 minutes of United V Olympic.  Pretty uninspiring game tbh. Olympic didn't look like a team that was top of the league, especially against a team missing 5-6 players.

Imports won't help them now as chances of top 3 dropping that many points is not going to happen.

Yeah truly uninspiring game considering united offered absolutely nothing going forward.... one chance in 90 minutes. End of the day will take another win and move forward. Probably should have been 5-6 nil to be honest, also 5-6 players of what calibre? another 3 goals to the good anyway, 23 goals in 5 games. hopefully the boys keep marching on.
