Highlights what's wrong with football here, particularly with comet and it's predecessors.

I appreciate there can be privacy concerns with some of the personal information collected, but team lists / gameday squads etc. are all known by anyone at the game, and should be available publicly for anyone with an interest in footbal or football stats

Capital Football should take a lesson from NRFL and post the Match Day team sheets when they are submitted to Comet before kick off, as seen here: https://twitter.com/LOTTONRFL/status/1117215545009430528

Looking at the player list on Comet, there isnt a lot of quality at all. Some good players but not enough.

If you are a Cap1 player and on the bench at your club at not enjoying it, you will prob have a good chance of playing Central League and prob improving the current squad.

You dont happen to the link for comet and there player list do you?

That David Silva has played for a few clubs around Wellington. Before he went to United he was playing Olympic thirds

watched Napier thrash wairarapa 9-0. Barcia looked like scoring every time he got the ball. Rapa keeper had a mare. What's happening to rapa? Napier looked very good

Topsy-turvy 3-3 between North Wellington and Western Suburbs. Wests took a 3-1 lead but struggled with the physicality and directness of NW for most of the game.

Full credit to United. Turned around some very poor results. Rapa though conceded 9 today. When Rapa play United that will be a massive game for both clubs!

Heard they are rebuilding this season using local youth. Huge game for them this weekend v Wellington United. Battle for the wooden spoon.

4-4 was a bit of an epic and a great game for the neutral (unfortunately I'm not neutral)

Paul Ifill opened the scoring in the 6th minute, with a shot hit so hard the Wgtn Utd keeper said he didn't even see it go past him!

Wellington United responded straight away from the kick off with Manny Achol scoring

Ifill then did one of his weaving runs and made it 2-1

He could have had a hat-trick inside 15 minutes as he hit the bar shortly after

Rapa had a few close chances, including one of those sitters that seemed harder to miss, Wellington United also had a few chances and hit the post twice

In about the 35th minute Ifill pulled up with a hamstring injury and went off, it was a bit of relief for Wellington United as the game was becoming the Paul Ifill show up to then

Half time and it was 2-1 to Rapa, how it was only that I don;t know

2nd half kicked off and Mike McCutcheon scored straight away for Wellington United 2-2

10 minutes later he had a second and it was 3-2 Wellington United

Not long after the ref called the Wellington United keeper for handball when he said he stepped outside of his area while kicking upfield

Up stepped American Hugo Delhommelle who placed a great shot over the wall and into the top corner, only for the ref to order a retake as he hadn't blown his whistle, he retook it and placed it in exactly the same spot and it was 3-3

Then with about 15 to go some lovely passing play between Manny Achol & Owen Smith ended with David Silva slotting in Wellington United's 4th

There were still more chances for both sides and it looked as if Wellington United had done enough to secure their first win of the season, but an amazing 7 minutes of referee time was played and in the last minute of that Rapa got a free kick on the edge of the area and up stepped that man Hugo Delhommelle who scored with what proved to be the last kick off the game.

Rather gutting but it was better than the 90+2 minute 3-2 loss to Napier on Monday, overall it was a fair result between the two teams with the worst defenses in the league and both desperate for their first win

Was that for the handball that Journeyfan mentioned? Or something else?

North Wellington looked good for the 3 points, organised, great use of their speedy wingers, youth and stocky journeymen.

. Lower Hutt were big, young and at times bullied off the ball in 50/50 challenges. Their finishing was also average - NW down to 10 and still only scored 1 goal.

There are two results in sport, winning and learning, the academy teams continue to learn some great lessons this season, which is great for the future.

    And it’s 3-2 to Wests!

I saw an advertisement today, from someone in the UK on behalf of Wellington United looking at bringing out a young CB from the 5 or 6th tier. Will supply them flights, first month accommodation get them a hospo or labour job and give them $150 a week.
