The most important thing is being able to take the nets down after the game.

damn, and someone told me it was the ability to pick the ball out of the back of the net...now i know what i've been doing wrong these past years

back to topic, we lost 3 today zip to LH, sounds like fair result although last goal was in 90th minute. I didn't see the game so can't comment any further but Peryman was under the weather if he did play and Mike Graham was absent. No excuses though, that is a wake up call,  I look forward to the match report.

Olympic 2- Mar 5 when i left in the 8oth Minute

Brockie carved up the greek defence like a knife thru moussaka, poor old TJ in the Bubbles goal was having a hard day at the office, conceding an early penalty and not getting much support from his back 4

Referee was card crazy- cue Greek player- "its not some majic trick!"

Comedy momnet was when a cetain orange booted number ten was thru with one to beat and whenhis turn didn't pay dividends, decided to plummet for the penalty like an olympic gymnast leaving the pummel horse, much to the amusement of the Newtown crowd- class

He wore his orange boots on the inside..maybe he should bring them back next week

Actually the comedy moment was the blue fireworks

classic- just like a champions league game!

haha its a bit of both for me really.

But yea miramar turned up on the day and done the business, in patches i think olympic were great but over all miramar deserved the win, don't think they were worth the 5 goals but what can u do.

the kid gloves style defending around Brockie cost the game- he waltzed in for the third untouched

Oly hit a rocket on the post in the 2nd half, but overall the Mar were the deserved winners, pobably should have been a closer score line though.

Yes it was only Central league but Brockie was standout today!!!

Brilliant passing and finishing particularly the 3rd goal!!!

Olympic didnt come to the party and looked hungover or something!!!

Miramar will only get better whereas I dont think Olympic will!!!

Great to see Leo Bertos there today.

dont agree thought the mar shoulda had even more goals and the greeks second goal was a dodgy back pass. Good to see all the greek supporters up in the stands

cumon man, they shouldnt have got that penalty i don't know what the olympic keeper was doing, also the 1 that came off the cross bar and hit the back of the olympic defender and went in ( lucky).
for me 3-1 miramar would have been more realistic.

Just for you Zonston.

Not really a match report of sorts this week, havent had time to make it all fancy so heres my quick points.

Both teams looked hyped and ready to get another derby underway as we saw Olympic line up against, what on paper looked like a weak Miramar squad.
The match started as usual and after some good build up play by Olympic, Miramar intercepted the ball and on the break sent one into the box, only to be headed to Olympic goalkeeper TJ, who parried it wide, only to chase it down and in the progress concede a senseless penalty to gift Miramar the opening goal. 1-0 (Miramar #10 converted)
As we all know when Olympic concede they hang their heads, but Miramar gave them no time to sulk as much pressure was being put on the Olympic Defence as Miramar looked very dangerous on the breaks.
Come the 8th minute it looked like a one team show seeing Olympic enjoy minimal possession and Miramar sending balls in the box a heap at a time.
Olympics first real chance came when the ball fell to Mikey Halikias who drifted a soft shot wide.
Miramar looked settled at this point in the game and Olympic was struggling to set giving away balls in the middle of the park, unnecessarily.
In the 15th minute, Mikey gave a ball to Chaz Lawrence who then whipped it into the box, latching onto Mickey Malivuk’s head slotting it past Simon Shone in goal to cancel out Miramar’s early goal.
Fireworks and Chants erupted in the stands as the supporters were ecstatic to see one pulled backed and Olympic back in the game.
It was obvious that new recruit Jeremy Brockie was to be a trouble on Olympics Defence and without the help of Jamie O ‘Conner and Tahl Theodoriou a daunting task it seemed.
Around the 25th minute mark all things seemed squared up, and the only thing worth mentioning was the strictness of the referee. Jimmy Haidakis received a yellow card for what appeared to be, juggling out of his own third and shoulder barging a red shirt.
Soon after the ball fell to Jeremy Brockie a good 35 yards out who drove a shot destined for the top corner only to float up and wide by only inches.
Olympics Right side was then attacked leaving Paul Kothroulas in the dust, whilst Miramar sent a attractive ball into the box, untouched by all the blue shirts around it, only to fall to Tommy Smith’s feet who put it away in the 27th minute to give Miramar the lead 2-1, and shortly following received a yellow card for a foul in the middle of the park.
The 3rd card of the game came in the 30th minute, and the honours fell upon Keiichi.
Barry Lewis then conceded a free kick outside of Olympics box, where I was certain he was to receive a yellow for, but the ref, for once, kept his cards in his pocket.
As the half grew old it looked like Olympic were still half asleep as Miramar enjoyed a fair amount of attacking opportunities, and Olympic not taking theirs and again giving the ball away every easily.
Miramar were to capitalize on one of their chances come the 40th minute when Jeremy Brockie skinned and gutted 4 Olympic players ran into the box and beat TJ at the near post to put Miramar two clear 3-1.
Olympic were then presented with a golden opportunity to pull one back before half time when Jared Curtis turned just outside the box and put in Anthony Neonakis who’s shot was saved.
As the half ended we could see that the team going in leaders at the half had taken their opportunities while a frustrated Olympic side were left to think of what if, but football is a game of two halves although for Olympic and their supporters it only brought more heartache.

As the second half began Miramar got off to a flying start when they managed to work the ball up field and guide a well directed header off the post and onto the back of a unsuspecting Shaun Easthope putting it into the net, 4-1.
Soon after Mikey, felling he was not to be left out of the books for this one got a undisputable yellow card, for a rather emotional tackle.
Miramar made a change in the 57th minute that saw PJ Lupi come on for Keiichi.
Come the 60th minute mark both teams didn’t really look like either of them were pushing for a goal, possession had settled and was fairly even, and Olympic were running out of time.
Olympic then followed suit and replaced Paul Kothroulas for Craig Stevens.
After Jimmy dragged a shot wide, Olympic made another change in the 65th minute seeing Anthony Neonakis off and Ryan Edwards on. The Olympic fans let their coach know how they felt when they started chanting, “We want Gerondis, we want Gerondis.”
A spring was then put in Olympics step when the ball fell out to Chaz who drilled a volley 30meters out hovering only inches above the ground only to hit the post, be crossed back in, and see Mickey Malivuk header it wide.
The 68th minute saw Dominic Rowe get booked followed by Barry Lewis in the 75th minute.
Miramar’s number 10 then saw his attempt on goal from a free kick rattle off the post. Miramar then made a change that saw #13 on for #11.
At this stage in the game it looked like all hope was lost for the home side and to make matters even worse Brockie bolted past Barry Lewis and completely buried it in the back of the net to make it 5-1.
Ryan then countered with a darting run down the right hand side, putting a good ball in the middle to Mickey M. who saw his shot saved by Shone.
Olympic now enjoying a couple attacking opportunities saw Jimmy latch onto a ball from Mikey Halikias, only to waste the chance by taking a shocking dive in the box.
Things got a little bit better to digest for Olympic when Mickey ran round the Miramar goalkeeper in the 83rd minute to pull one back, but unfortunately for the home side, it was a little bit too late, 5-2 Miramar.
Olympic then made a change and brought on John Gerondis for a very frustrated Mikey Halikias who was lining up a free kick just seconds before he got dragged. This rounded off the game in a half which was lacking the presence of a real Olympic vs. Miramar clash.

Overall it was evident that only one team turned up on the day, and even though on paper Olympic could have been tipped as favorites it was Miramar who could return home with the 3 points and yet another victory over their rivals making it 4 from the last 4, leaving Olympic with their heads between their legs only to ponder...how?uncle steve2008-04-23 00:02:43

Awesome effort. Great to see that despite your allegiances, you can be critical of your team and their performances. Probably the only Olympic supporter I know who is capable of that. Keep up the good work mate.

Cheers bolo's.

But hopfully the boys give me somthing positive to work with this weeked. Doing a negative write up about losing to Miramar was worse then having to remvove my sisters appendix in brazil when she was hit by a run away golf cart.
