A dog with a bone :)
WU start next Thursday 17th at McAlistair (sp?) 6 to 8, every Tuesday and Thursday after that. Newtown 1 is our home ground again so players can take advantage not just of the best surface in Wgtn but the best facilities off the field too. 1st team coach is Ross Durant. All new and ex players welcome. Advertisement ends

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Yup, gotta love using Melrose Park as a training ground, including the artificial cricket pitch which runs straight through the centre of it.
Still, it does beat Nairn street where we used to train...only half the lights worked and it was either a dust bowl or a sewage reservoir, depending on what part of the season.
That's it for the off the topic post
No pitch can be as bad as Karori Park (swamp) $5mill and its still a dump!
Queenslander 3x a year.

Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Number 2 (in front of the clubrooms) has had lots of work done on it since they cocked up with the topsoil last time (3 years ago). Having reffed junior games on it last year, I can honestly say we didn't find many stones, even after rain. However an extra 150mm is being put on it in the next few weeks, we believe it will be up to Central League quality for the year.
The new changing rooms are right next to the clubrooms at the top of that pitch, and I can honestly say that the only water coming in is piped, not coming through the roof like the old Dulux stand changing rooms.
Incidentally, the Council had just gone for resource consent to prior to demolition of the last stage of the redevelopment, the ugly and wrecked Dudley Cottage . Somehow it was torched last Tuesday, and must have saved quite a bit on demolition fees. Stop Out's committee all have watertight alibis

guffaw
