Central League play-offs

Scenario 1:
- UH stay in Cap Prem.
- Naenae drop to Cap 1.
- Wainuiomata promoted to Cap Prem.
- Olympic play KCU for their Cap Prem spot.

1.Upper Hutt City
2.Wellington United
3.Waterside Karori
4.Stop Out
5.Miramar Rangers
6.Island Bay United
7.Marist
8.Western Suburbs
9.Wainuiomata
10.Kapiti Coast United/Olympic

Scenario 2 (this is where it gets complicated):
- UH go up to Central League.
- Wainuiomata promoted to Cap Prem.
- Olympic play KCU for one Cap Prem spot as per normal. Winner in Cap Prem for 2011.
- 9 teams confirmed, who gets the last spot, Naenae or the loser of Oly v KCU? (discuss)

1.Wellington United
2.Waterside Karori
3.Stop Out
4.Miramar Rangers
5.Island Bay United
6.Marist
7.Western Suburbs
8.Wainuiomata
9.Winner of Kapiti Coast United v Olympic
10.Naenae or loser of Kapiti Coast United v Olympic

Luckily Upper Hutt are unlikely to go up so it will be 'Scenario 1' - KCU and Olympic play for the last spot in Cap Prem.

EDIT: The only issue is if UH go up, who gets the last spot? But as I said, unlikely.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

both those scenerios are just simply not possible....

in scenerio 1 you have wellington united to come 2nd....
in scenerio 2 you have wellington united to come 1st.....

OK, that makes sense. Bring on scenario 2 to make it interesting.
My thinking is that if Olympic win, KCU stay up as they finished above Naenae. Logical. If KCU win, well, really Olympic should go up as Naenae finished last. Or maybe another playoff between Naenae and Olympic. LOL

OK, that clears that up. Mind you, Naenae are better off going down. Unless they can get some players for next year. No point getting humped every week.

Thought it was 4-1? Maycenvale all class. Will beat Taranaki easy I reckon. Number 8 in the midfield very handy young player who is he? Will do well in CL

Might have been 4-1, just a handful there at the end.

Tom Biss - Lower Hutt's U19s guest player.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Was 4-1, and 8 was Tom Biss who was also named man of the match after the game -"Is he old enough? - Only just!".  Definitely one to watch - 1/2 touch and move style.

Thought Adam Brown would be thereabouts for UH - similar style.

thats a great result for TT. Maycenvale have been scoring at will. At home you would have to back TT to win and go through. An away goal though would give them kittens.

NAKI NEWS  - Call for fresh blood in running composite team

It would be a glum day for soccer in the province if Team Taranaki was relegated from the Central League on Saturday.

One football administrator who agrees entirely is Team Taranaki chairman Paul Stancliffe-White.

"I think at the end of the day, the game on Saturday is in their hands. They have got to beat Maycenvale by two clear goals and if we get lots of people along to support them it will help lift the team and hopefully we can do the business," said Stancliffe-White yesterday.

He said mission accomplished, then the Team Taranaki board would start building on plans to make some changes next year so Team Taranaki don't end up in the same position again.

Going back to the start in 2003, the majority of football clubs in the province wanted to play at a higher level, but no club side wanted to make the financial commitment to do so due to costs.

So Team Taranaki was formed under the same auspices as Christchurch City and Team Wellington, both composite sides.

"All the football clubs were asked for their input and with the exception of just four of the 13 senior mens' clubs signed up with Team Taranaki," said Stancliffe-White yesterday.

The seven and two high schools who signed the dotted line were Hawera, Eltham, Kaponga, New Plymouth Boys' High, Francis Douglas Memorial College, New Plymouth Rangers, Moturoa, Inglewood and Peringa United.

"It works well, but if I had a whinge as a chairman I would say in the four years that I have been part of the board only two clubs have really been involved with the running of Team Taranaki and that would be New Plymouth Rangers and Peringa United."

"It would be good to get some new blood in there and a little bit more support from an administration and governance perspective from those other clubs. I think the concept is great. It allows those players that want to play at the highest domestic level to do so."

Team Taranaki developed an under-19 feeder team two seasons ago
