good to see regan get on the scoresheet - he's bagged quite a few now i think??
I was only there for the 1st half and LH were playing really well so to hear that scoreline suprised me.

a few observations:

Lower Hutt ALWAYS being positive in their play, ball movement generally was good and they looked to play forward whenever possible. Roy and Logan offer that little step up, its just a pity Logan isn't that little bit more physical, but he's a good player all the same

Admir. I like him lurking out on the left hand side. I'd nearly go as far to say he'd be more lethal in an "old school" inside left position - i think thats something that could mess with teams at U19s.

Easty got forward a few times in the 1st half which was good to see, his "shape" belies his deceptive pace (not a p!ss take) - should be playing at a higher level.

I know a 6-3 loss sux, but not many teams can say they've stuck 3 past Wests at any time....so if theirs any positive on the face of it then that wud be it.

Something must have gone wrong at the defensive end for LH.  Wests had scored just 14 goals in 17 games and then stuck 6 past you in one match?  What happened?

I think they just got it together for the last game (nothing to lose) - also Wests are quite a good club defensively which is only second to Petone in Prem League.

Doesnt cut it with me!!!

Thats a poor result in anybodies language!!! 6-3!!!
Ends a very good season with a whimper!!!
5th place in year one is a fab achievement despite the real possibility of being able to get 3rd!!!

On to under 19s now.
I guess the question that everybody is asking is will petone choke or will they get in Central League???
Their form has been sketchy recently!!!

man itd be funny if they didn't. although would rather not have to play them again! I'm sure their chances would have to go up with the poor form of the bottom clubs. guna be interesting

If they have to play Taranaki they'll spank them.

Even tho theyve lost to Wharfies and Tawa recently, both those teams would spank Taranaki also so they've got nothing to worry about.

But like Hans said they better go up to give the other clubs in the premier league a go at winning the title.

Amusing read.

However, you better be a little more careful with your choice of descriptives when talking about me Easty17 or someone will end up crying!! I know exactly who you are and where to find you (along with your other girlfriends). If you do believe the sh*t you write then I'm sure you'll take this warning seriously.

Wairarapa beat Lower Hutt convincingly twice this season, 4-1 in the Hutt and 4-2 in Featherston. Move on.

btw if you get stuck remember your basic spelling rules - I before E except after C.

Have a lovely day.

Hmmm interesting thoughts, however I think the experience that Taranaki would have gained from playing the Central League teams will prepare them for the challenge so I don't think its a done deal!

TJay sit down, have a coke and a smile and relax. Easty17 called things as they were, if you dont like it take a walk, footballs for footballers, goalkeepers included. As for people crying, Petone might be shedding some tears if they don't get promoted this year - good luck to them tho in all fairness. Apart from the flattering scoreline its good to see some young talented players on show - both lower hutt and wests should have strong U19 squads this year.

Thanks for the advice Gorillastyle. Here's some for you - unless you've made critical comment about my goalkeepeing keep out of it. If you have however, make sure its fair or be prepared to be confronted about it.

I dont mind taking a bit of banter like the next guy, but Easty17 and Goldie made several incorrect statements about the game and sl*gged me off on a number of occasions in the process. Which I've recently discovered.

If you and others don't want to be taken to task, chose your words more carefully and (as a lot have already commented here) get your facts right.

Cheers,
I think I'll have a green tea..........much more relaxing.

Tony Jamieson.

Well Karori beat them twice up there preseason. A 4-1 romping the first time and then 1-0 the next day after one of the bigger nights on the piss you will ever see.

Tawa finished ahead of Karori so would beat them too.

As you can tell i'm very keen for Petone to get out of this league!

And also in preaseason Petone flogged Warfies, 6-1 if I remember rightly. So its hard to predict the outcome based on preseason. Good luck to Petone though. They were robbed of promotion last season and deserve it this season. When is the playoff draw out. Looking forward to seeing Petone get their revenge.

Its no longer a problem.

How can a team get robbed when another team beats them in aggregate score over 2 legs?

They lost on pens afer aggregate scores were 1-1. Denied a certain goal in Taranaki to make it two nil by a very dodgy off-side call. ROBBED.

Its no longer a problem.

TJay don't get too wound up about what people think of you mate. I've also received a fair rark up on here from a few people (from my own club even!) who haven't got the nuts to front up as to who they are......yet i'm sure they'll gladly let me buy them a beer at prizegiving.....let them wallow in their anonymity..........but lets be honest.....you and your bro are 2 of the "rougher" cats i've played against in my time......and thats not a bad thing!

On another note, u involved in the South Pacific Games with the C.I Team? Still waiting for my clearance to come through from Manumea Samoa, most likely for next year hopefully.

Toffs.....every offside that call that doesnt go the way you want it is dodgy!

Barber21, we could be team mates. I married a half Samoan, does that qualify me too :-) I should enquire.
The off side was actually pretty bad. They had a guy on the goal line plus the keeper so it makes off side interesting.

Its no longer a problem.

Hi T.J

So lovely to hear from you again.

Its no secret who I am or where to find me for anyone there tony.
I do beleave what I said, otherwise I wouldnt have said it. Ok I could have put it across a
better way, which I will keep in mind for next time but what did I say that was so wrong? I never criticised your goalkeeping at all, infact I actually complimented them by saying you were one of the better keepers in the league and selecting you in my picks for team of the year. What I did get at you for was the absolutely ridiculous incident that happened at the game in wairarapa, which is fair enough for me to have a pritty average opinion of and im sure theres alot of people out there who would agree.
Thanks alot for your help with the spelling, ill keep that in mind for next time!
P.S I've only got one girlfriend and I would appreciate it if you didnt pluroalise that as she wouldnt be happy, thanks again

Good talking to ya.

Cheers Carney.

Yep, I will be playing for the Cooks at the SPG later this month.  We'll play Tahiti, Fiji (Pita, Lai & Petero - my black brothers), New Caledonia and Tuvalu. In the other pool Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and American Samoa compete against each other. The Games runs from about 25th Aug - 7th Sept and will host athletes and officials from 22 neighbouring countries participating in 32 different sports.  It is a World Cup qualifier for the Oceania region.

Best of luck with the clearance. There is nothing more valuable to me in sport than the memories of playing Australia, NZ (and many others) and giving it death for my beautiful country.

Wairarapa defaulting to Waterside this week is way out of order - about time we say bye-bye to the imported  team from  over the hill. Defaulting at level is a joke, but they will get fined $50.00, another joke. Will they be in the league next year? may not need the play-off game this Saturday!!!

I agree mate thats totally not good enough to have to default at this level but I still see a place for them in the league next year. They just need to head back to afew more local based players or atleast Wellington based players.

In defence of Wairarapa United they have been defaulted to many times over the years as teams dont want to travel over the hill. Twice last year their second team were defaulted to but no-one was informed so the team turned up etc without knowing this.
