Such a dire game. Upper Hutt probably the marginally the better side.

Understatement.

The dire game bit, or the marginally better side bit?

Games to be played May 31-June 1

Palmerston North Marist v Red Sox Manawatu

New Plymouth Rangers AFC v Tawa AFC

Lower Hutt v Petone (Another Hutt Derby)

Napier v Stop Out

Victoria University v Island Bay

Olympic v North End AFC

Wairarapa United v Havelock North

Wellington Phoenix (United) v Western Suburbs (Ole)

I really hope games are at times that not only don't clash with the Under 20s, but allows you to see more than one game.

Uniteds home game, so maybe at Newtown Park.

Quite a few weenixers will be tied up with NZU20 or U17s or HK7s. Wellington United Kindergarten may have to seek dispensation to play U16s in senior football; otherwise play their 2nd team? For those hoping for Phoenix Academy v Ole Academy, probably not a true test this time. On a related note, apparently there has never been a game between the 2 academies. Why is that?

Why not a true test? As close as you're likely to get really, until Wests get into the new club-based national league.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Just thinking many of the best nixers will be away (six with 17s, plus HK7s plus U20s; all up a dozen?). I don't know who that leaves for selection, but it's a shame we won't see the best of the two academies. It would have been a cracking contest.

Probably Wakefield then. Both sets of kids will be used to playing on turf, so I don't see the problem there.

is newtown 2 in the U20 mix????

it has been upgraded i've been told for a few dollars even though Ernie Merrick is not happy with it as the rabbits still dig holes that are perfect to break ankles.

it would at least be a real playing field like newtown 1 and endeavour are and would make for a better game for both teams i feel.

Coastal Spirit 3 (Zac Gordan, Mason Safahi, Jos Lis) Selwyn 2 (Dan Ede 2) HT 2 - 1

Pretty average, predictable, round to come in Central. Most interest in the Nix United match against Wests but with Nix understrength I don't think it'll be an upset. Tense Hutt derby, but Petone should have too much while the Cap Prem 3v4 show down is interesting, especially being on the grass.

preview for the northern region which starts tomorrow.

Note 1 change as OMU have been removed for playing an ineligible player last round so I think Mangere now host Te Puke

No local football on days a town/city is hosting U20 match. So much happening. I only watched junior GG in this morning's game and skipped the 2 other local games I would have normally been at to watch televised U20 matches. And WWC starts in a week too.

"I can't monitor everyone all the time!" More likely, they were on volunteering duty at Albany; or wondering how they are going to greet Sepp in a few week's time.

north Shore beat Hamilton Wanderers 1-0. In their last 9 Chatham Cup games, 8 have been away in Auckland.

What are the chances of that . Second year in a row we have played North Shore away and prior to that we play Birkenhead away two years in a row but it's a random draw .... yeah right
