Upsets galore up here.

Ngongotaha over Hibiscus

Melville over Waitak

Tauranga over Bays

Three for me, and two for them.

Checked out Tawa/Upper Hutt. Wished I hadn't. Not sure what was worse. The teams, the pitch or the officiating, which included the ref waving play on after the ball hit the side netting.

Tawa went up one nil. Then there was about 40 minutes of bugger all until a Tawa player was sent off for studs up challenge in Pedro's lower leg. Despite playing 50 minutes with an extra man, Upper Hutt barely mustered a shot on target.

VUW v Island Bay on the other hand was really good. Very open game. VUW opened the scoring after their striker intercepted a pass back. IBU replied before half time with a well worked goal, which included a back heel and a shot from outside the box. IBU went ahead thanks to an own goal from a dangerous ball across the face of goal.

so they still have some quality players then.

sorry for your loss but i am happy to hear that the mount tradition of some quality players is still alive.

good sportsmanship and fair playing field is all we ask for

but all we get is talk and goal posts moving

The worst refereeing display i have ever seen at the Birko-Central game. Gave 3 bollocks penalties for absolutely fuck all. Hope you read this whoever you are you should hang your head in shame.

Yup the number 10 ran rings around our players. Tauranga missed several one on ones. There 3rd goal was one of the best I have ever seen. From near half way has a half volley shot go over the keeper from near half way

And turned down a really good appeal to a really bad challenge on Birko's No 2 in the box in the first half!! Go figure.

Agree ....except ref was totally in Birkos pocket ...all the pens fully deserved ....Central down to 10 men and 3 down , still came back  !!! ...hilarious to watch the stunned drunks on the banks , all personal abuse when they were  up..... all silent as when they were drawn .....all quiet as mice when they were losing ....Yeeehah !

Dont despair tho ....there must be something you can hang a complaint on ....perhaps when they sober up .....[ its good they've got 7 days to do both ...]

7.4.1 In all matches of this competition, each player, except where he has played for his

club during the previous season and has not played in any match for any other club

in New Zealand during the current season, must have been registered with his club

for fifteen (15) days prior to the playing of any match in the competition.

I don't think summer teams count - just like they don't count towards your max 3 teams in a year.

I'm told he last played winter football for Central last year.

That's unreal. Given the Mangere debacle of last week it's quite incredible Central could be that dumb!

Cue NZF finding an obscure rule/dispensation to help their mates at Central out....

Why do players have to transfer to/from them if they dont even bother counting them? Seems pointless to even have registration for the ASBP if that's the case, just make it a free for all.
