Wairarapa fell into that trap last year as one of their players had only played 1

pretty sure the Rapa issue in the cup last year was in regards to a Guest Player status thingy..

Did you think people would not recognize who he was?

Which club did Jacob play for in New Zea\land before he went off shore?

Spoonley played for ACFC after TW. But transfers usually show as a transfer from ASB Premiership if both in same federation. Or Transfer from Federation x to x Club.  So the last Club played for May be central if he never "played" for the international Club/xxxx

The worst refereeing display i have ever seen at the Birko-Central game. Gave 3 bollocks penalties for absolutely fuck all. Hope you read this whoever you are you should hang your head in shame.

I guess that means Central won?

Yes is the old rule, now 15 days so long as not already cup tied.

NW know the rules like the back of their hand. Can one of their representatives make a ruling to help out Central or Birkenhead? And save it from NZF having to make a ruling?

So what is the difference between a "club" and a "franchise"?

Three for me, and two for them.

well for one the competition you play in it appears - look i'm no fan of Central which you probably all know - but i don't think you have much to appeal here.

Regulations should be written with more clarity then.

Just answered your own question really!

If you dont know the rules probably best not to comment just makes you look like a mug

Your team bottled it again by the sound of it like they have done a few times recently

Not a lot you can do when the ref is on the other teams payroll.

Just like he was v Eastern Suburbs in 2011

Or last year v Central 3-0 up and lost or v ECB and Bay Olympic

Nah none of those games had 3 awful peno decisions go the oppo's way. Good effort with the history lesson though pal.

All 3 penalties were correct, no doubt at all. they may have been a little 'soft' but they were right. Don't blame he referee for mistakes that Birko made. 3 up against 10 men!~ It was theirs to lose. They have no one to blame but themselves

Good that you acknowledge that you are chokers though!!

So the 2 Free Kicks you scored from and the Red Card? Who payed for them?

Well that's bullshit. Fuck i haven't even touched on the winner being offside.

Can't properly criticize refs though apparently even when they are getting money out of Vuksich's back pocket.

what was the red card for?  and more importantly did Birkenhead end up with 11 men (+ technical staff) on the field at the end of the game?

Permalink Permalink

Second yellow following a shocking two footed lunge by one of their Asians. No Birko players or staff sent.

Big difference between critisicm and questioning refs integrity and character!! Who was the ref?

Anyone go aftermatch and hear Hobson's speech? Did he say anything about the 3 pens?

he said easy to blame officials when you lose.... Nobody but ourselves to blame........

Only one " of our Asians " * on the field Buffy , unlike Birko's captains  ...how many captains can you have ?

Very tempted to invest in a bucket load of the armbands for the next round ...

* And then not for long ....

Not sure what game you watched? But it wasn't the Birko game I saw. Three pens correctly given after stupid rash challenges - that didn't need to be made! And don't forget Central only had ten men after a correct ending of and Birko where three up! There is only one team to blame and it wasnt Central

I understood that Spoonley was TW then Phoenix (for a game), then TW then Phoenix (for a game) then ACFC for Champs league and then Central. I think he played Central last winter but then to be fair to Spoonley, he has been Central for a while and before that ECB so I think most people recognise that he is a Central player. Not sure how that fits with the technical wording the competition regs so he may was be caught out but I would think unlikely. I'm happy to go with Chopahs position on this cause he is not often wrong on regs etc.

Changing subject for a mo'

Went to NCR v PN Marist- huge crowd including travelling Marist fans plus local Napier Marist cheering the brotherhood,

Wasn't a great game really- pretty niggly; Marist keeper was on form & kept them in the game, but Marist were quick on the break and went 1-0 up. The City Rovers got two quick pens to take the lead and were costing at 3-1.

The equalizer, when it came, was in second half stoppage time. Plenty of chances in extra time for  both teams to win it- Messam had a chance right on full time.

Probably would say that Marist had the better chances to be honest. City Rovers seem very shaky at the back, as they did against Olympic.

So it went to pens as the light faded- City slotted all of theirs-all very good/calm finishes- Marist player up first had his saved- so NCR progress.

Love the cup & happy there might be some more drama to come at Bluewater this year

Cheers, Salmon
