Oh bugger, that seems a bit unfair. NZF must be rather confident of the results on saturday, they've already listed North Harbour as the venue for the final on their website...

That is where it is played every year, unless there are no Auckland based teams they will move it

If Miramar has a full squad they will be hard to beat

Is there any gate charge to go and watch the Chatham semi game at Dave Farrington Park?

The same can easily be said about Bays.

Three for me, and two for them.

My initial thoughts were that 'mar would have beaten Bay Olympic but ECB's a tougher proposition.

You got a squad list for ECB anywhere Buffy ?

I can brief one up in about 60 seconds but it's not official. Is that ok?

edit: they don't have one on their website that's all.

Key players would be keeper John Fletcher, defenders Phil Edgington, George Suri and Ryan Zoghby, midfielders Lee Kenyon and Joe Bresnahan and attackers Dan Morgan and Dan Peat. Nick Hyde is also a decent fringe player for them. Phil Edgington is their top scorer.

Three for me, and two for them.

Just spoke to the Miramar physio who said there were a few injuries...wouldn't give me names though

We have been playing Suri up front lately.
Hyde has been playing reserves and has only just started playing 1sts.

Other players are.
Glen Forrest
Avi Estrin
Cory Hitchin
Jack Beguely
Jason McKeown
Stu Bola
Mauri Wasi
Riley Webster

Also just signed Gothard as back up keeper. Wearing the #2 which is a bit strange. Yes i notced Suri up front vs Glenfield but he is usually a back correct?

Yup normally a center back. But they have a good pairing with Zoghby and Edginton. Not to sure how they are going to play against Miramar

All the very best to Miramar for their game on Sunday... Lets hope they do the business, make it to the final and bring the Cup back to Wellington.

News i thought you said people from Welly wouldn't support Miramar if they were from other clubs?

How so though? I thought the Chatham Cup was a thoroughly nationwide comp that teams from Cape Reinga to Bluff can compete for, not some pseudo Auckland v Wellington v Chch v Dunedin comp.

Don't ask me.

I just know that when the 'mar were in the national league a lot of people didn't go because they were rivals, yet Chatham Cup games people seem to support whichever Wellington side is through at this stage.

Fair enough. I can understand people getting out to support the teams and maintain an interest in the cup once their club is out, i just didn't get when the cup all of a sudden turned into a pseudo competition to see which major city centre will hold it that particular year.

Just confuses me that's all. No harm done.

Three for me, and two for them.

I fully agree with your comments. It just adds to that saying ..."WN is the home of football"

Its the same around the country, people will get behind a rival local side for a one-off game but they won't do it every week.

I'm not getting behind Bays or Olympic for either semi. And i wouldn't if they were playing up here either. I hate the pair of them.

Anyone got the final score?

Completely unconfirmed rumour that I've just heard is that Bay Olympic won the penalty shoot-out after a 3-3 draw after extra time.

[This was from someone who had heard this and was phoning me to see if I could confirm that this is what had happened!]
