The Coll team are definitely on the up. Almost definitely Charlie's swansong this year.

No guarantee Stream will make the top Nationals as Tawa may yet finish 3rd. (even assuming Pats arent going) Apparently it's the top TWO that make the main draw (not top 3)

Tawa currently on 4 points after 3 games (2 to go, v Coll tomorrow and Pram Sat)
Stream on 6 after all 5 first round games. If Tawa lose to Coll and beat Pram then bye bye Stream ?

You probably know by now: Pram 2 Tawa 3.

Just caught the end of the game.  Some Tawa parents were saying they didn't deserve to win it, but were happy enough to be going to National Champs.

Southern Skies - Brisbane

Defending champions Nayland College opened up their account with two victories, 2-1 against Scotts College from Wellington and 1-0 against St Peter's. Gagame Feni, who has a trial with Waitakere United after the tournament scored once against Scotts, while Jerry Donga contributed the second. Jerry scored the only goal in the second game.

Nayland won twice today 2-0 and 4-0. One of those games was against King's College, but not sure which one. Sam Maxwell was sent off in the 2-0 win.

I coached a team in the G14 JPL last year, where most of those girls were playing (I coached Megan in my team).  It was a grade chock full of good players (many are playing at College 1st XI level this year) and the girls were right there with them, including several in the Lower Hutt team that won the JPL comp.  Was really pleased to see so many of them making the successful Cap Football national Womens Youth League team and then into the training camp for the U17s.

Interesting contrast between Coll's pre-season form and now...

Timing your run I believe it's called!

Indeed
Nothing next week for Coll but following week;

Tuesday         Sacred Heart
Wednesday   St Peter's
Thursday       Auck Grammar
All the above in Auckland

They then  play Pats on the Sat which could be interesting, considering the week's heavy schedule !

However ,the really interesting game will be August 10th (Noon) at Wakefield v Palmy North
