Culture kicks Wellington Football Festival

Groups are decided!!!

Its bigger than Berlin, more fractious than Frankfurt!  the 40 (yes 40!) teams have now been placed into groups for the 2008 tournament on March 29.

I am going to post this and then post another sepearte post with the groups only-

The next step will be the draw and programme- this will come in the next few days

Which group is the group of death!, which is the group of bored to death, which group holds the winners.

(please note only one group was genetically modified- group D-this contains all the teams that have mixed or women only)

Tournament format means every team plays each other once- top two teams in each group progress to knock out cup, bottom three progress to knock out social cup. Teams rankings in pool games may count in knock out social cup-i.e. there will be a best performing losers scenario.

Karori Waterside Originals (KWP) are the second team to fall foul of the Chatam Cup Draw- they must be Wgtn College players methinks

In their place we bump Capital Samoa up the waitlist to enter the fray-

I am still waiting on one team to getb in touch with me, guess who Monkey Boy?
yes thats tight Sudan have yet to confirm their place, and we have two teams waiting to join in their place

You're a rubbish footballer Roy, I'd hate to have seen you in Rugby.

Brumbys is guesting for the Fever in the AM now anyway (seeing as his team all bailed out on him).

Okay.  We have lost Liverpoolfan1 and Feverish in the last couple of days which is a concern... they were probably among our better players.

Trying to convince Roy he should come and have a run as well.

Indeed.

Reg22 hasn't seen a football pitch in a couple of years.
I'm rubbish, fat and unfit.
CNUT isn't remotely fit
Smith runs like he's 60
DKP couldn't finish a cheese Sandwich
Brumbys is a pity recruitment
Marius is Marius

...pretty much leaves Harryhotspur and CNUT's mate as our hopes...

Seriously though, anyone and everyone should come down and laugh at us.

They've got bands food, the whole nine yards.  Should be a great day (and if you avoid us, some great football).

From wotzon.com...

Craig, himself a more than useful attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, has successfully stimulated entries from teams representing such exciting locations as Italy, Greece, Afganistan, Chile and Israel and the particularly exotic Yellow Fever Supporters Club, who are relishing the opportunity to show they are more than just purveyors of good refereeing advice, and rabid Phoenix supporters but can actually play a bit themselves.

He (John Morrison) believes Assyria versus the Peoples Republic of Yellow Fever ( claiming they represent New Zealand) Grand Final would truly reflect the ethnically diverse yet Footballing inclusive community that is now an inherent part of the Capital Citys life and totally representative of what the Culture Kicks Tournament is all about....

Jesus Christ, people have expectations of our team...

Anyone without a team and keen on a taking a punt for a game should just turn up and report to the Tournament nerve center which will be a caravan near the clubrooms. After careful consideration and selection criteria you might be allocated to a team.

We'll have a list at the rego tent-
Teams needing players- players needing teams

Aw sheesh- we're far too kind!

Update on regos- Cambodia have taken over the spot left by FITE- Somalia couldn't find two teams

Supposedly at 10.  Salmon wouldn't stitch us up by making it early... I'll be there from 8:30-9:00ish for briefing and rego.

We'll use the Fever mobile as a base if Salmon comes through with a spot to park it.  Streetsoundz fine stereo can give us a soundtrack when the bands aren't playing.
