Full time 2 nil to Oranje over Nth Wgtn, same for Petone over UH.  Kapiti were 1 nil up over Olympic and still going  when I left although could be contoversy if that stands.

The goal was a well taken free kick over a wall of midgets.

Wonder why so many coaches shout?
Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Upper Hutt was doing ok until they got a guy sent off. Battling away with a good Petone side. Had there chances to score, till it went sailing over the bar.

Can't understand how they wouldn't know

From what I can gather they were aware of this but wanted to field a decent squad and to give their guys the run.

unluckily for Kapiti the ref who sent the guy off last week was strolling past the game last night, saw the guy playing and walked over to Barry to let him know about it.

I think you'll find that the KCU coach and Si were discussing this before the game so they weren't trying to hide anything.

poor form Kapiti. They cant have much depth this year if they need to resort to that.
Greeks should be smashing teams like that - maybe the conditions proved challenging

Can't blame conditions as both teams had to play in it. We just didn't play well simple as that

Is Feverish playing tonight?
Anyone taking bets on how long till he gets a red?

Rumour is he is injured so will take a limited part, although one of his team mates reckons he'll be gone between 45 and 60 minutes.

Feverish didn't get a red, but two of his team mates did !

One a second yellow for a dive, and the other for abusing officials.  Cracking entertainment in the last five minutes in a 1-1 draw.

Petone B beat BNU B 2-1.  Required a last minute of injury time penalty save to hang on.

Mal got the second yellow.  Mark Fulcher in goal the straight Red.

Not sure who got Wharfies goal (had to fetch the Junior News) but Cappy got the 'mar goal.  Nice header from a free kick.  The main cause of the explosion was where the free kick was taken from.

Stop Out 6 BNU 1.  I'd be a **** football journalist. At the end of the match I had to ask the score. There was me thinking it was 7-2.

It was OK. Usual(ish) PH pre-season stuff.
Things: Why do so some people think that because they can play a bit they don't need to be fit? One guy caught my eye. He was great for fifty minutes. Then looked like death. The post match cigarettes don't improve that either.

BNU bloke caught SO player. Me (cos I am bit of a curmudgeon - Thanks Ed.) I would have sent him off. My thought is that if you dish it out just SHUT UP when you get penalised. Firstly he didn't touch him. Then it was something else....

On another pitch playing for BNU's second team was Sandy. Older than most of the other players by "a bit" but still got that good fitness level.

Sandy was good considering his knees must barely exist, but his penalty taking needs a little work.
