Nah, Russell Shugg. Must be the fittest guy in the world

Jake Shugg is his younger brother, and not a bad player either

both products of Wests now under the tutelage of Richie Martin and Sir William Shugg.

As are more than a few lads in that Tawa team, looking good for 09 tho - has to be said.

Good win for us today against the mar, 6-0.

Yeah yeah i know, miramars 2nd/3rd team, still none the less, a 6-0 drumming for the boys who went out there and still played with everything. Could of gone out there and played like shieza and won 2-0 but played well and reaped the rewards. Jimmy haidakis, great goals, hat trick for him. Stand out player for us so far this pre season.

Good win for tawa on the other side, shaping up to be a good final.

Were Miramar playing with 6 men cause it looked like it??? There best player I believe was probably that batty guy in the midfield. He may be fairly old but he looked to be the only player in that team to even have a few shots at goal.

Big crowd expected for this final and possibly the (new) bell straight from the village of Kandila (Greece) could make an appearance! We shall wait and see...

Nobody likes to lose.  Disappointing when you throw away a two goal lead and a winning penalty.  Penalties are a lottery though and I think in this game the other team would have to admit that the better team did not win.

More disappointing was the schoolboys' reaction to winning.  There is no excuse for players being disrespectful.

But for us it's just a warm up competition.  Our sights are set on things further down the track.  Winning the Hilton Petone was never a focus.

well i only got told what happened, in your position i would be pretty pis*ed off too, what did the team do when they won?
Permalink Permalink

I think it's best I leave it to the management of the team to address it with the players.  I'm sure they will.  It's not the sort of thing Roger Moses and the school would condone, but I know they will deal with it.

What was so bad about the team enjoying the fact that they won? We did a chant to show our school spirit. How is that disrespectful? I believe that our prinicipal would enjoy the fact that we have school spirit and would not see that as being disrespectful. We shook your hands too and also three cheers. So i do not understand what was so disrespectful about that.

may depend what the chant was. I mean if you did "You're so **** it's unbelievable"..

Come on Smithy. You're more concerned about the bonus you've missed out on for not making the final arent' you.
We all know there is nothing wrong with rubbing it in when you beat someone. Bit of banter is great.

Ha.  Actually I'm more grumpy I didn't do better than Fozzie and the first team!!!

Although, arguably, losing on pens > getting pumped by Tawa

Seriously though, is all ancient history.  Good luck to all four finalists.  Get along to Memorial on Sunday from 1.30 (I think) and watch.  And buy a raffle ticket to help my Nike Cup team diffray the costs of going to Auckland.

You can win (amongst other things) ANOTHER Yellow Fever tee shirt from Greenie's secret stash.

From what I have heard he can have it - Fozzie is just about to walk, he said he was sick of Smithies tantrums and demands already.
