Wait until you see my concept for a 6 team play-off in a 10 team league for the A-League.  It is fantastic.

How's my driving? - Whine here

Nah, top 6 playoff is too complicated. Top 8 plus two wildcards for the best two finishers outside the top 8.

Finals footbal extravaganza.

Given the way the season is going yet again if we do finish our 8 team leagues. Maybe Cup should be straight knock out at least it would all be over in 3 weeks.

Week 1
Match a 1v8
Match b 4v5
Match c 3v6
Match d 2v7

Week 2
match e win a v win b
match g los a v los b
match f win c v win d
match h los c v los d

Week 3
Final win e v win f
3rd & 4th los e v los f
5th & 6th win g v win h
7th v 8th los g v los h

teams dont have to be ranked according to league just allocated a number.

Too much work to be done today!

Although what about having promoted relegated teams playing in their new divisions cup  will add some new blood to each competition

So is Cap Football committed following through with the Cup competitions this season seeing as we may be cutting it fine in terms of time left available to complete them?

I emailed Cap Football on Thursday asking just that.
Reply said if no more cancellations(Yeh Right) they hope to carry on as planned but they are working on plan B & C.

I'm wondering if they're contemplating turning the Cup competitions into knock-out competitions - less games, less pressure on the grounds. But that would mean that some teams would end up playing only 15 games in a season for two years in a row.

to true greenie, however if we asked cricket to reduce their long christmas break, do you think we might be able to start earlier and complete our seasons for a change....?

Looking at draft draw for next week - no women's leagues get a cup competition even though - cup competitions were the way CF promoted 8 team leagues

Some mens grade listed with cup games.

seems like these cup games were only a ploy to cover the embarrassment of not being able to finish leagues in the past. same thing happened with kidz super 6's last couple years. those leagues ended up playing just the final in what seemed to be an anti-climatic end to the season.
obviously the belief is only 15-16 games will be played in any season and the 8-team league will result in a completed table instead of the farce that occured last seaon based on rd 1 positions.
the cup is there just in case we have good weather it seems

a) they werent
b) why are you moaning before the season finishes?
c) would you prefer to have last years kerfuffle?

Pizda I was part of the group that decided on the new system and let me first say that all clubs and through them their membership were asked for feedback before any change was agreed. So to start having 'input' now is about 12 months too late. If you now have a problem go and moan to your club chairman. Second up, it is the intention of CF to play as many games as possible before the grounds get given back (beginning of Sept).  The cup comps (which include the womens) are therefore being taken seriously.

not putting input, just stating facts based on similar situations.
- didnt think that you could change the ALUMINATI'S agenda with feedback.
- love the way we give back grounds weeks before cricket need them, only for them to have a big long break at xmas. note we get them back a week after them.
- now i know who to blame when i do have a moan

The reason that the grounds are given back early is that the cricket blocks can have some time to mend!

thanks one eyed nik, i do realise this , but as i like to say, it's so they can ruin our entire season when the rains come. have you seen the amount of clay they put on those mounds of wicket!!! how about the xmas break, maybe we should extend our season due to a 4 week lay-off for easter
