I was just looking around at past English Cup seasons and found this run from Coastal Spirit back in 2008

Won 8-3 vs 5th place in the Premier League
Won 4-0 vs 3rd place in Division 1 or 7th place in Division 2
Won 1-0 vs 1st place in Division 1
Lost 2-0 vs 2nd place in Premier League

In their first ever season, the 8-3 games was their 4th game as a club. They played in the Chatham Cup 1st round 4 weeks later and Coastal lost 2-1.

Great game up at the Kaiapoi turf between FC and Waimak. Early lead for the hosts who then went off the boil and let 4 goals slip before halftime, and another 1 early in the second half. 5-1 down then came back into it and scored from a couple of corners, got another goal but couldn't quite equalise.

Of the eight teams in the QFs, only three are in the Southern League... guaranteed at least one CPL/CCL team in the semis! How good is cup footy.

The three Southern League teams all avoid each other. Boring!
At least one CPL team guaranteed in the semis with Halswell playing UC. In terms of the other games - I think anyone who knows me knows who I'll be supporting.
