Ferrymead Bays have the 'wood' over Christchurch United in the cups this season after winning tonight's Morrison Mitsubishi English Cup Semi-Final 2 - 1 over Christchurch United, after Bays knocked United out of the Chatham Cup earlier in the season. Second semi-final is between Nomads and Cashmere Technical next Tuesday.

Was just updating my records and the last time Christchurch United won the English Cup was 1991, the same year they won both the National League and Chatham Cup.

When is the draw for the English Cup done, my memory the first round is usually during Easter? Which is only about 10 days away...

I've been told that there may be a change to the English cup where all teams from div 9 up are able to play matches. Not sure how that will work logistically.
This isn't 100% confirmed but had heard it might be a possibility.

Only 14 teams entered. Standard competition with no preliminary round. Draw out April 5th.

Waimak v Coastal was a great game, Waimak looked the better side for most of it, Coastal received a penalty in the last minute of extra time to win it.

Gonna be a quick turnaround for a few teams - in the Southern League, FC vs Chch Utd and Selwyn v Nomads are on Saturday the 27th two days later. Oxford have a Division 1 game that day as well but St Albans are lucky enough to have a bye. Coastal, Bays and Tech play on the 28th while Uni don't play again until Wednesday the 1st. CPL teams don't have a game that weekend.
