A public school definitely falls under the BoR though (any lawyers want to comment on private schools?), a private organisation not so much.

There is now (at least) one state integrated boys school in Wellington who no longer consider the enrollment of  Ole players, as they won't turn out for the school. Seems like West's players are beingg asked to confirm if they play for ole in the interview process. Scandalous for state integrated in my opinion.

Dangerously off topic in this thread, of course. Unless girls schools are now considering this in the light of a West's/ole W-League side.

the commonality between the men’s and women’s football structure at West’s is zero.

Agreed, it would be fair to describe last year's cap prem team at wests as a social one. I think Ole want that to change substantial.

Any ideas what's happened with the women's U18 comp? Nothing on the capital football site in terms of draw?

WIP?

what is UTD's chat on Wests picking off some first teamers this late in the piece?

Possibily wip, just surprised me , Friday evening comp, right, would have expected it to start this Friday, and can't see any forward schedule in comet.

given the struggle some clubs are having just to get teams out (Upper Hutt, Seatoun etc) wouldn't be that surprised if it doesn't happen and lets be honest with most of U18 already playing for clubs on Saturdays, Schools midweek and Futsal on top of that do they need more football?

The league regs didn't permit U18 team players turning out on Saturdays if they played on Friday, and only 3 U18 players could turn out on a Sunday for cap prem I believe.

which will probably be why the U18 is a wip clubs need those players just to get their W-League and cap prem teams out

If they're trying to link it in with schools a little, starting it right before the holidays isn't the greatest idea.

I have heard that Ole/Wests are asking for the first game to be postponed due to numbers ... probably not what those players were promised...

I imagine it would also have to do with getting only a week-and-a-half to put a team together.

Maybe don't accept the invitation if you can't field a team? Aka what every other club above them did?

sounds like UH are not the team of last year. Not sure why Karori never got a transfer request for Ronisa who played for Utd apparently .

The first-team keeper at my club came from Island Bay, name of Ana, anyone know her? She's REALLY good

Well, she wears a cap when playing, but so do most of us - nothing fancy like one of those rugby brain protectors

Ana Wittman-Wenzel?

She's from Seatoun. Pretty good keeper. Spent most of last season out, I'm pretty sure she was broke.

played 5 games last year, she had a broken wrist or something like that

before that she had been first choice keeper for the Capital side when they got to the GF 2 seasons ago - she didn't play in the final as she was sent off in the semi final

Its likely to be her as I remember seeing the Island Bay team last season and their keeper wasn't that good at all

Thanks!

I didn’t realise how many North Welly teams there were!

Was pretty happy with my girls' 5-0 win over Petone. Don't think Petone had a shot at goal.

Well, this Ana has back trouble rather than wrist troubles and definitely said Island Bay rather than Seatoun, but could be

Here's a photo.

Island Bay's keeper (with the rugby headgear) was Steph Simmons.

Ha ha, yes, that's her, thanks. She's REALLY good and I'm learning a lot from her.

(No wonder she's playing here if the grounds back south are like that...)
