Upper Hutt scored their 46th or 47th goal this  season against Rapa in the Cup on Saturday

Edit : 54th Goal this season

Yup that's gonna be a huge game, only team Vic Uni are yet to beat this season. Next week is their biggest game of the season though vs Wgtn United.

Karori win 3-2

Sounds like Karori were in the game for 7 minutes when they scored all 3 and Uni dominated the rest. Big result though!

what? I went to the game and it was the COMPLETE opposite. Vic Uni shot twice and scored two speculative shots from 40 yards which the keeper should have handled (scorer was the one who made the NWL squad). Vic barely strung three passes together.

The lack of relegation is mindblowing imho. I would suggest that the top 2 in Womens Cap Prem would more than give the bottom 2 w-league sides a run for their money.

Bizarre, not the story I heard from the coach and my sister who played 70mins, they made it sound like we absolutely bossed it and karori were lucky.

Yeah it did sound like Nicole scored a couple of screamers but she's been doing that all season.

Speaking from a Vic Uni POV the money is a huge issue, its essentially 5x as much $ to play Central League and we simply don't have it. First priority is to earn a chance at promotion and go about how it will be funded from there because Capital Football seem open to allowing pro/rel despite the rules they put in place.

Probably some bias on the side I'm hearing then. I know they were missing a few players cos they took my 3 best!

Fair point -  a 6 team comp, with teams in Palmie & 'rapa means the costs are  high for travel. Perhaps a 8 sided comp would lower the costs for the majority of teams?

Women's Knock Out Cup, games to be played 5-6th August

Northern/Auckland

Eastern Suburbs v Three Kings

Glenfield Rovers v Forrest Hill Milford

Central/Capital

Upper Hutt v Palmerston North Marist

Mainland/Southern

Dunedin Tech v Coastal Spirit

I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

Big day today saw Upper Hutt go 4 points clear after beating Utd 2 nil. A tight game with bith goals scored from Corners. Utd played with 10 players folliwing sending off of centre back Marije for second yellow

Dont think even Olympic could find cause for complaint with the send off.

Seatoun reboynded from their Cup loss to PNM to share the points in Palmy with a 1 all draw.

Big game next week which will probably decide the title when PNM travel to Maidstone.  Anything less than a win for PNM will more than likely see the title go to Maidstone

Whispers have it that this result might change. To a Marist win.   This would see them on 26 and only 2 behind Upper Hutt on 28.

League title is wide open still if this is the case

Same question - what did UH do?

09 Jul 22:37

Not the upper Hutt game. It was 1-1.

Whisper is about Marist vs Seatoun game.   Guess everyone waits and sees if anything eventuates

09 Jul 23:41

ahh, so is this in anyway related then to the seatoun managers ban?

10 Jul 00:30

oh well if it's Seatoun they probably played a 14 year old. They have done it on a few occasions but Cap Footy have never taken points off them before. The difference is that usually they used mainly do it with their div 1 team.

Kelly Cup quarter finals

Wellington United 5 Palmerston North Marist 0

Stop Out 1 Seatoun 2

Vic Uni 0 Upper Hutt 9

Wests v Wharfies tomorrow

Saw Wgtn Utd v PN Marist & 2nd half of Vic Uni v Upper Hutt

PNM had a few changes, but Wgtn Utd were good. game did have a sort of pre-season friendly feel to it though

Vic v UHC was 8-0 at half time when I turned up!, so Vic did well to keep it to 9, again a few changes in their team from usual.

Wendi Henderson played for Upper Hutt, so they had 3 ex football ferns on the pitch (Sarah Gregorius & Briar Sargent too)

Methinks you'll find she never represented them!

Wibbler told me that but he obviously got confused between Briar Sargent and Cushla Litchwark (who has played 15 games according to your records) - so still 3 ex football ferns on the pitch

pretty sure Cush has never made it onto the pitch. Definitely not 15 times.  Does being on bench constitute a cap ?

9-0 is actually a very competitive scoreline compared to the 17-0 that Stop Out copped earlier in the season!

We were a little screwed over by Capital Football moving our home game to a Saturday and away from our home pitch against our wishes (UH complained Boyd Wilson was "too narrow", and some of their players were going to a ball on Saturday night so they couldn't play Sunday - official reason provided by Capital Football). We had multiple players book flights back to Wellington after Uni holidays to make our Sunday game, including our best CB, but Capital Football didn't have any interest in listening to us.

Not saying it would've changed the result but was definitely an influencing factor in the scoreline.

We'd love to be there next year if allowed and affordable.

Also, not irrelevant that we're coming 3rd given WU can't get promoted even if they win the league.

Only one (potential) promotion from Prems, and only the top two teams have a chance at it. Assuming it's run how it has in the past.

But you still have a game in hand which I missed (oops), and a better GD than Wharfies, so not irrelevant yet.

As an aside, looking for last year's regulations, I found this instead: Women's Football Plan

That's factual, not sure what nonsense I've talked before. Anything I've mentioned that I haven't seen first hand I've admitted is tinted with the bias of hearing it from others involved in the club. I was actually at this game though.

doubt Stop Out would want to drop, they were pretty pleased when they beat Seatoun and they also had a big turn around against Wgtn Utd, from 19-0 to 4-0. Their biggest battle would be keeping hold of their better players from the top teams

I was talking about Stop Out, but haven't managed to catch any of their games this year so was basing off table position and goal difference. I'm still not sure we'd be able to take the opportunity should it be presented either way.
