Gw 's coaching CV would be interesting I think he was at Lower Hutt, Stop OUt, Upper Hutt and /or Tararua and Petone. Can anyone give some dates? I believe he was a Rep coach or at least I have read that in old Newspaper Clippings as far back as the old Railway Club.

Canberra's Marist College is accused of harbouring a paedophile ring in the 1970s and '80s involving as many as 12 former teachers. The Marist Brothers order is grappling with a flood of new sexual abuse claims. IF ANYBODY KNEW ABOUT WILLIAMS LIKE FOR LITTLE BOYS THEN THEY COULD BE ACCUSED OF HARBOURING A PEDOPHILE.
The Canberra Times can also reveal that in the past two months some of these cases have been settled out of court, with the religious order's insurers, Catholic Church Insurances, granting pay-outs understood to be more than $50,000 each. More settlements which are not an admission of wrong doing are expected in the coming months.
Wonder if the clubs have insurance ?

Can't really sue in New Zealand Harry.  That's what ACC is for.  Saves clubs from having to insure against such things.

Also this isn't a dumping ground thread for every pedophile story in the papers.  While I feel for the victims of the Canberra Marist Brothers I can't really see the relevance.

Title is "An Association With Soccer". Not a bad book.

And yes, I am here every day My flat isn't the best place to study. Massey is awful too but at least there's internet access.

I have been advised by the Lower Hutt Court that at the depositions hearing of Williams on August 20th 10am that no evidence will be tabled and Williams appearance will be a short one.
In some cases a defence lawyer  will concede there is a prima facia case to answer and the judge will not have to consider the evidence.

I know how you feel, but until the man with the funny wig bangs the hammer and say's guilty well we have to be a bit careful.
I can however understand the frustration with our countrys legal system, the Police were made to get serious in January, Williams has now been to court 3 times, its now August, he still hasn't pleaded and the game continues...God give me strength

please correct me if i'm wrong. i was gonna bleat about this before. and now that it has come to light and in response to a P.M. request i do something!!!! this is what i could see coming- EVIDENCE . what sense is there in accusing someone of something without the core substance of proof ie dates; times and details. all of these accusations are open to scrutiny without them, serving only to impact more harshly on the victim, who now has no closure through the judicial system to boot.

God give me strength.......He appeared again today and due to the Circus of a justice system we go back again in 4 weeks.
Its now 8 months , about 5 court appearances, 6 victims, 18 charges, he hasn't even made a plea yet, there has to be a better way.

It just goes on, I have just been informed that the matter now goes to a post committal conference, then call over, then a trial date next year.
Very frustrating but at least I can go out and about and hold my head up high.

An amazing amount of credit is due to the complainants for sticking at this.  It can't be easy.  I can't even imagine.

The legal system certainly isn't easy for complainants in cases like this.

yes excellent work , a pity the justice system works so slowly. I also dont think he should be allowed out walking around. i hope must people in the hutt valley know to stare clear of him. Would hate him getting to another kid before he gets locked up.
I saw him walking across to court yesterday , he looks creepy as.
Also think its disgusting that he has done these horrible things and now drags those victims through there ordels again and makes it long and painfull for them
He should grow some balls and plead guilty and save his victims all the drama and hassels.
But looks like the old bastard is going to drag it out for as long as he can.
Hope he does not cross the road in front of me

Don't know how to link it someone else will though, but if you google" ex-soccer official" its at the top of the page click on it and there is a lovely colour photo of the accused.

This very long and now infriating saga just continues and Williams has been remanded until October 19th for a call over hearing which is where his Lawyer and the Crown decide the length of the trial 3, 4, or 5 days or whatever and anyother finer points of law then a trial date will be set and we have to wait 6 to 8 months for  that.
There has just got to be a better way.

I can understand your frustration and I was one of  "those in control" at the Petone Club at the time, there were  complaints made to to the Police,   perhaps not from the Club that I was aware of,  but certainly from individuals  me included, and anyone who wishes to see proof of that only has to email me, and if you do that you will be made only too  aware, of where the the a lot of the blame should lie, it sickens me, that the Police did not take this seriously, especially knowing that some where very close to the Club, ....... Petone 1 I salute you for your courage, I just wish I could post here what I have been told regarding this piece of sh*t known as Williams, and what a large number of ex  Petone and  Hutt valley players have told me told me,   he will get what is coming to him. trust me

Williams trial date has finally been set,  its in Wellington 17th May, it is believed that there has been further charges laid, the justice system in this country is a joke, it will be 15 months from when he was arrested until he has to stand up  in court and answer the allegations, I am told the trial is set down for 5 days, to all of you guys who have come forward...Kia Kaha....Kia Kaha

Very good point

Parents have to remember that training is not a baby sitting service. Which I have seen parents do many times.
I also think that unfortunatly Managers and Coaches that give there time for free take on the responcibility of protecting the kids when they are placed in there care.

I am pretty sure in this case Williams was a paid Manager and therefore is paid by players subs etc. So you would expect him to be doing the job he was paid for and part of that job is the walfare of the children of the club.

Paid? Dream on, I think were talking junior football here.

Williams was a full time employee of the Petone Club for a number of years, he also had stints at Stop Out, Lower Hutt, Tararua and was a Hutt Valley Rep Coach.

My information is that the complainants have now reached double figures, 12 weeks to go before Trial.  I just can't wait.
