Starting 21 Feb. Usual format I'm guessing.
Haven't played seriously for 2 season but always seem to get a game.

Who's excited about it?

What are your early predictions (other than grass burns and sun strike)?

Draw due out soon.

Anyone know if next Sundays games will start earlier due to Nix home semi? Hope Petone shift games to earlier so we can all cheer the Nix on.

Hi All,

Apologies for late notice of the final draw but last minute issues and withdrawals have once again made it a moving target.

Essentially the changes won't affect too many teams. They are:

Team Wellington Youth Team replaces Federation U17 Team in Div 1
Federation U17 Team then replaces Seatoun in Div 2
KCU replaces Brooklyn Northern United B in Div 2

Other key points:

Sunday 21 Feb kick off times will be 12 noon (Div 2) and 1.45 pm (Div 1). I will confirm these times once the A League playoff draw is known.

A day by day draw has been included in the attached this time.
On Sunday 28 Feb and 7 March one Div 1 game has an early kick off and one Div 2 game a late kick off.

Mid week games will kick off at 6.15 pm to allow for traffic delays (but earlier if both teams ready as light can become an issue).

A reminder that 5 substitutes are now allowed in all games.

Please also refer to the attached rules for players moving from A to B teams and vice versa during the tournament, and guest players.

Rules around disciplinary action will included in the Tournament programme.

All games will be played at Memorial and Sladden Parks in Petone. Pitch numbers will be allocated daily as we will again be rotating through 5 pitches.

If you would like anyone added or removed from the circulation list please advise.

Hopefully that's all for now and I hope that my eternal optimism for the Phoenix does pay off and we start early next Sunday!

Regards
Barry Pickering, Petone Football Club

First in first served is probly the logic, rough on BNU to be bumped down, because a team from a higher grade that applied late gets put ahead of it

Proposal to move kick off times on Sunday earlier again - 11.15am and 1pm - should be confirmed today one way or the other.

Not us, we're all Clean Living, God Fearing, Souls White as the Driven Snow types, Might have to get the priest to give us the express sermon at Mass however to make kickoff on time...

apparently wainui drew with miramar 1-1?? Petone beat NW 4-0, Naenae beat Stop Out 4-2, including a ridiculous charge down at half way by the striker on a defenders clearance that sailed back over the keepers head!

Any word on the Petone goalie?   Looked pretty nasty.

He's okay.  Nasty concussion and a badly sprained shoulder.  Won't be training for a couple of weeks but will make a full recovery.

Marist 2nds 2 Kapiti Coast 1sts 2
Marist captain given straight red for swearing, pity about the Flying Forearms of Doom etc that were missed.

Last year it was coaches standing outside technical area, this year looks like foul language is the refs bugbear.

Raebs scored a cracker to make it 2-2.

Nah we told our ref (Mike Stevenson) to get f**ked numberous times and no cards were issued.

He did a good job (but don't tell him I said so).

Hmmm could be a diabolical anti-papist plot then, hopefully we won't get numberous red cards throughout the season (it's an actual word if someone else can use it meaningfully in a sentence).
