Must have been crap as you were playing.
Did well in Ivan England a couple of years ago as well as winning their pool in Napier and havent had any big hidings at Napier recently.

Me play for Wainui? Nah mate I haven't visited Wainui in about 15 years let alone represented the shit hole on the footy field. Ive been there once to play 1 game as a junior. You must be confusing me for someone else in your old age old man

Capital Football website the usual!  So when and where are the midweek games being played? Don't show on CF website. You would think that come the end of the season they would have it sorted!

Are the teams listed on CF the only teams playing this year? I noticed the likes of Wests and Stop Out aren't in the fixtures list. Or are some clubs just doing their own thing before Napier? BNU said they're entering a team but I don't see how, I cannot think of a single U19 player at the club.

This.

Stop Out ran their own Super 6 tournament a year or two ago.

Stop Out IBU match moved to tomorrow as was a clash with IBU reserves yesterday who have players and coach in both teams. Stop Out lads were great in allowing change.

Central League Wairarapa v Upper Hutt was also scheduled for Sunday and some players in both squads.  CL game rescheduled for Saturday but new IE arrangements kept.

island bay vs stop out - quite poor from SO, went ahead early through a strong header off a corner, then dropped and defended rest of the game out, SO keeper especially poor letting in 3 goals that he got strong hands to and palmed into his own goal - fulltime

island bay 4

Stop out 1

I think Nightz means that in your opinion if they were crap, you can't have been to great either as you were probably playing them in the lowly satellite comp!! And Wainui a shithole? you are uninformed maybe you should visit one day and make your own opinion, it's a nice community spirited place!!You would probably get your beans though for being so ignorant!!

They were never in the satellite comp when I was there, they were in the main draw. I remember seeing them losing games 10-0 in 20min halves to the likes of Central and Waitakere. For about 3 years straight this happened before they were finally put into the satellite draw

so Rojas was crap? Plenty of quality players in the satellite (maybe not from Wainui to be fair)

Wasn't James Musa  also picked up from satellite?

Not sure that would prove Greenie's point anyway, but Musa was in the main draw with (last placed) Wanganui iirc.

Oops! I came here for the Ivan England thread.... I must have clicked the wrong thing..

NW U19's started with a 5-1 loss to Petone. Will be interesting to see how the other games pan out as we are in the same pool as Olympic and Warfies.

We've got a reasonably strong squad this season, mostly consisting of the U17 Auckland tournament squad (minus CJ and Quilliam - Both at Olympic) and a lot of new faces as a good chunk of the "old boys" have moved on.

Also entering a Development squad in the Upper Hutt tournament which has become my baby, Lots of new faces there as I am looking to attract players to the club from Onslow College and OJFC (Catchment area and all that smithy :P)and bring them through the U17 leagues as I rebuild that squad.

Yeah you're only one of the biggest junior clubs in Wellington. Makes sense you need to look elsewhere for players...

The link between the junior club and U17's and seniors is non existant. Something I'm hoping to work on next season. I couldn't name or even point out a NW Juniors coach. Except Cramer.

The kids are there but quite of a few of the guys I'm bringing in (or back i should have said) have played through the junior club and then disappeared off to play for their schools, wherever those are.. I'm only catching the ones through Onslow college so who knows where the others have gone.

Lets not start on NW's issues again... Should be its own thread really!

But as I said, something to work on.

Lower Hutt, Olympic,Upper Hutt through to semis. Final spot to either Stop Out or  Miramar.

Permalink Permalink

Haven't seen any games yet. Any thoughts on who's looking good to make the final?

Permalink Permalink

Looks like Lower Hutt, Petone, Island Bay and Upper Hutt have won their groups - Miramar would have to beat Stop Out by nine clear goals on Thursday to knock Island Bay out.    Hutt Valley 3, Wellington and the western coast 1

What tables are you reading-Petone came 2nd in their pool behind Olympic

If Miramar win they will have nine points and pass Island Bay  6 points........ Therefore winning the group......? Goal difference wouldn't come into it.

Yes sorry, got some results wrong.

Only doubt is Miramar/Stop Out tomorrow.  Fixtures at Maidstone Sunday 29th.

12pm Lower Hutt v Miramar/Stop Out

2:30pm Olympic v Upper Hutt

So 2 all probably considering Stop out's luck lately.

Interesting final. In Mick Waitt and Brendan McIntyre you've got the two most youth-focused coaches in central league so not a massive surprise that their U19s are so strong. Lower Hutt have been a powerhouse in this part of the footballing spectrum for a number of years. It hasn't really translated to first team success, but when you look at what they've done at U19 level, consistently, it's pretty impressive.
