for the amount they spent on karori park last year i would have thought the drainage would have been a little better than what i saw on saturday.
In the end all the 2:30 games were abandoned leaving alot of people highly annoyed.
 
Gotta now be the worst playing field at the moment next to maybe the hataitai velodrome and wakefield.

I believe matches were successfully played at the Velodrome AND Wakefield on the weekend.

Therefore Karori Park is the worst ground in Wellington.

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Played on KP #3 at 12:30, it was underwater by half time, the #1 deck after the game was in sh*te condition, gotta wonder what the increase in fees paid for?

I understand KP #3 was played on by a social side.
How does a Premier side and Div 2 side become cancelled yet a social side can play?

they did play a game at 2.30pm on number 3. They also played womens games there yesterday on a perfect surface.

The actualy conditions under foot weren't too bad - the ground was firm, but nott rock hard which was good, it was really just the surface water that caused an issue.....there were a number of occassions that a good run was stopped by a rogue puddle of water..........

Rogue puddle -  covering most of the pitch ? Is there any drainage at this park ?

And im confused by this one- "Social" sides like Div 8 teams pay as much subs, sometimes more, love the game as much as top teams- "social" sides are the bread and butter of this federation and get pissed off when they are pushed to the side to accomodate "real teams"

Give everybody a chance on the good pitches and a chance to play

hear hear!!!!! As the manager of the karori div 10 side, we would have been seriously peeved if we had been bumped off #3 to accomadate another team!!

Yeah fair enough call!!
 
We were supposed to play on #2 in the 2:30 game and the ref's were going to bump the Wests prem game onto #2,close #1 and then probably bump the #3 for the #2 ground.
 
IF a team is allocated a pitch and can't play on it then they don't play,can't see why others have to suffer for anothers misfortune.
 
Anyhow previous statement retracted.

Touche... but when you're spending upward of $4 million you'd think that they'd get decent drainage.

It had only rained for a few hours - prior to that it was light drizzle and the fgact remain that was the first decent bit of rain we've had for a month at least. Not good enough.

Karori Park was in pristine condition for yesterdays games.....all the better for the watering it received the previous week.....

Here's hoping now its had a bit of water on it and had a good soaking after a summer of hot baking sun it'll drain quicker and more evenly next time theres a heavy downpour.....
