Eastern Suburbs thump Ellerslie 6-0, so with Cashmere also through to the CC final we just have to wait to see if NZF give them the home double-header they deserve.
Who coaches ES?

Katie Duncan
Did she go back there after honking up Springs because she is not well liked?

Yeah it's now Adam Thurston - changed last year.

Ok so it is Thurston? Sounded a bit weird they would take her back. Anyway he must be doing a decent job.

Not well liked? I don't know what went wrong with her coaching the WS prems this year but I always liked the hell out of her when she was my coach at Onehunga Sports

A New Zealand Football spokesperson told The Star Christchurch was in the running to host the finals.

“One NZ Stadium is among several venue options being looked at. Should there be no Christchurch representation in either of the cup finals, it’s unlikely the Kate Sheppard and Chatham Cup final would be held in Christchurch.

“NZF aims to have a decision made by August 17.”

Sounds like we will know the host today!

Perhaps I am showing my cynical nature but I don't see the point in playing either, or both, finals in a 25000 seat stadium.  The entrance money probably wouldn't pay the rental, and the atmosphere would be dead.  More sense to look at something like Newtown Park which would provide a better experience.
Don't piss off old people - the older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent

A Jerry Collins or a park island. I remember a TW final which must have been at Waitakere’s Fred something ground (a bit back from the pitch but lively).
What is knocking round in Akld these days like that?

Could always host it at Ngā Puna Wai sports hub in Chch if they deemed Te Kaha Stadium to be too big or too expensive.

It has a stand that can hold more than 550 seated, plus hills at both ends of the ground and of course standing room around all sides of the pitch.

Or English Park, where they held it in 2013 when Cashmere Technical were in the final (and Coastal Spirit were in the Kate Sheppard Cup Final)

As reserve keeper for a Championship side, I suppose I liked how she made me feel I was a valued part of the squad as opposed to "who told this old hag where the trainings were" like some other coaches

Ellerslie have not had much luck with the 50/50 calls this season. Would've made for an interesting game if lady luck had swung their way when it was 0-0 with two good penalty shouts (and possible cards)  in the 13th and 16th minutes, and on the flip side a penalty given against just inside the box,  the saved penalty being retaken, and then a deflection being mishandled going against them to make it 2-0 just before halftime.  Once it went 3-0 with goal of the match after half-time, heads went down and there no coming back.
