Wow. Bet365 are offering odds on the MPL Reserves match tonight between Uni and Selwyn.
If there's a 15 year old reserve player looking to make a quick buck this could be there chance.
Had one of the MPLReserves game the other week plus both WPL games at well.

Our resident Bet365 guy is a yoga man, and does it while on the sideline. It's heaps funny to watch.
That's all.

Next time you're at English Park keep your eyes out for a half naked guy doing yoga on the sidelines. His classic move is known as the "celestial dolphin bridging the rainbow of human consciousness while riding a unicorn".

nomads fantastic result looking very good. Coastal not so. Selwyn looking good for the drop now?
Don't write off Selwyn to quickly, showed enough with a couple of new signings to worry a few in the second round. Nomads result, well don't say I did not warn you.
Seen some good football over the last couple of weeks, keep it coming.

Great game today between 2 excellent footballing sides. It may have been top v bottom but the way selwyn played I still believe they will avoid the drop and kick on next season once they get that first 3 pts

Half way there. 21 points to play for. What do you think the 5th place cut off will be? 21 points?
Below is the table I posted on here before the season started showing the points for the previous ten seasons for 1st and then 5th to 8th at the end of round 14 along with the average for each position over the past decade, so 21 points would book you a place in the South Island League as the range for 5th position was between 14 and 20.
I believe that the way the table looks at the moment 19 points is more likely to see a team make the top five at the end of round 14.
On current form would seem unlikely that Universities and Selwyn will make the top five, so all up for grabs with the other 6 teams.

Great game between Nomads and Coastal on Saturday, felt Nomads started to dominate once Tristan Nicol was subbed off. Great battle between Stephe Hoyle and James Hickok in goal.
Nomads v Ferrymead stands out as a close one for Anzac. Nomads a different side through April, definitely improved on their early efforts.

Nomads being helped by some woeful goalkeeping from Coastal keeper.

Really? I thought the Coastal keeper pulled off some great saves during the game especially when he saved that volley at point blank range.
On the balance of things Nomads deserved their victory but personally I didn't see anything in the Nomads performance worth raving about, in fact both sides suffered from some woeful passing in the final third of the field. The game was there for the taking but time and again both teams squandered great chances.
Just my opinion of course.
Does anyone know the definitive answer on whether a normal yellow card and a sin bin yellow card in the same game results in a suspension (the same as 2 yellows used to)?
Have heard rumours that it does (including some from refs) but also heard that the sin bin one doesn’t.

Agree that James Hickok pulled off at least three class saves with the save from the volley and pick of them, even Hoyle could not believe that it was saved. Even the one that he spilled that lead to the goal was travelling.
Always a tough gig being a keeper, with the mistakes they make being remembered rather than the saves they make.

Here is the Referees temporary dismissal presentation given to clubs - so with your above scenario the player can return to the game (2nd and 6th down):
| Caution Offence 1 | Caution Offence 2 | Caution Offence3 | On field Sanction |
| Dissent | - | - | Sin Bin caution recorded as Y5 or Y6 |
| Dissent | Non Dissent | - | Sin Bin caution recorded as Y5 or Y6, Caution Recorded (No Send Off) |
| Dissent | Non Dissent Caution | Non Dissent Caution | Sin Bin caution recorded as Y5 or Y6, Send Off for R9 |
| Dissent | Dissent | - | Sin Bin x2, unable to re-join the game, but can be substituted after 2nd Sin Bin if not all Substitutes used |
| Dissent | Non Dissent Caution | Dissent | Sin Bin caution recorded as Y5 or Y6, Caution Recorded, Sin Bin, unable to re-join and CANNOT be substitutedafter 2nd Sin Bin |
| Non Dissent Caution | Dissent | - | Caution Recorded, Sin Bin caution recorded as Y5 or Y6 – player can return to the game |
| Non Dissent Caution | Dissent | Non Dissent Caution | Caution Recorded, Sin Bin caution recorded as Y5 or Y6, Send Off for R9 |
| Non Dissent Caution | Dissent | Dissent | Caution Recorded, Sin Bin, Sin Bin - unable to re-join, and CANNOT be substituted after 2nd Sin Bin |
I can't make any sense of that at all.

So from what Bet365 tells me..
CashTech smoked the Students a billion goals to 1
Bays Gave Nomads a game like 6-2 (Ouch)
Coastal Beat Selwyn 3-1 - Coastal going down to 10 men, penalties saved, missed chances everywhere, and little asian man updating must have sore fingers. wow.
And United losing to Parklands again - Double wow

passing play and trying to play means jack if you can't get basics right and defend. find that out the hard way in mpl, could get away with it last year, learning very quickly in the top flight.
on a side note, watched till end of the 90 at parklands but didnt stay for extra time. very, very average game. well done parklands who again showed more ticker
Congratulations to Cashmere Technical on their 100th MPL win today, from just 134 games. They now join Nelson Suburbs, Ferrymead Bays, Nomads, Halswell and Western in the 'Ton Up Club'.
Suburbs are on the verge of becoming the first club to have 100 Home wins, their win at Saxton Field today against FC Twenty11 was their 99th.
