Thought Selwyn looked pretty good at times today, some nice passing play. Hope they stay up!

passing play and trying to play means jack if you can't get basics right and defend. find that out the hard way in mpl, could get away with it last year, learning very quickly in the top flight.

on a side note, watched till end of the 90 at parklands but didnt stay for extra time. very, very average game. well done parklands who again showed more ticker

Agree - very poor game. Saw 100 minutes of it after driving past (arrived late) - I'll never get that back.

I think having played each other 4 days ago doesn’t help as both teams cancelled each other’s threats out a lot

Coastal Played really well in the first half against Cash Tech and scored a great goal from a ball sent into the box. In fact for long periods of the first half Coastal were putting a lot of pressure on Tech's goal and could have scored more.

But once Tech got their first goal it seemed to suck all the confidence out of Coastal and their game plan collapsed. Tech then went on to boss the second half and win the game comfortably.

3 points shelved.

Yes great game considering the weather was not that flash. Coastal ceretainly had the best of the opening action, great set piece goal to opening the scoring from Dominic McGarr with both Tech goals, one just before the break by young Lyle Matthysen great goals as well.

As you say Coastal started well but only scoring once when incontrol was not enough against Technical with their younger players, Meacleam, Inwood, Chretien, Jordan Spain etc  making the most of their chances while some of the senior players, Clapham, Terris, Mitchell, Dan Schwarz etc are still on the sidelines.

With Nomads beating FC2011 it looks as if they will take the 5th place spot. 6th place position looks sh!thouse as they will more than likely be far enough ahead as they get to keep all the points they have got so far. With Uni and Selwyn on 3 and 2 points, might be tough to get near the 6th place team.

Will be terrible playing off against those 2 every week too.

Have they said how many rounds it's going to be?

Tough draw for Coastal during Queens Birthday weekend. Nelson on Satday, Chatham Cup on Monday and then English Cup on Tuesday!  Might need to draft in some gun Sunday League players to bolster the ranks.

Sounds like 3 Rounds for the bottom three.

Don't forget that there is another Round of the Chatty Cup before Queens Birthday Monday - on the weekend of 12/13 May so hopefully not a case of counting fixtures before they happen. NZ Footy must be getting ready for an error free draw this Tuesday

English Cup gets underway this Tuesday evening with Ferymead Bays facing FC Twenty11at English Park at 7:30pm.

What time is the Chatham Cup draw inn Tuesday?

Usually around midday. Hoping for a Coastal vs Parklands match and the usual error by NZ Football by including Chch Utd in the draw.

Rematch from 2016.... This time at Parklands would be nice with Fuego Junior to score the winner for Parklands ;)

And in other news, Coastal get Waimak in the Chatham Cup. Better bring some gloves.

Other interesting matches will be Selwyn vs Parklands (second time with the English Cup) and Tech vs Nomads.

Well John Stark went from Selwyn to Chch Utd and I know Halswell approached one of Utd’s forwards who is having a tough time, but it’s probably not this one!

Gotta be Stu Kelley surely. Or Macintyre. They're the only ones of interest aren't they?

I remember when Christchurch United v Mt Wellington at QE2 back in the early/mid 80's used to be a big game and draw a big crowd. Weird how things have changed.
