Going by want others have been saying sounds like he have the right credentials for the Canterbury United role then, if he is good at rotating his squad that will be an added bonus.

Nice work AW82, makes interesting yet scary reading.

Anyone want to play pick the score today?  I certainly don't.

You just winding Vim up or you actually think 6-0 to Tech? Think Uni need a result against a team fighting hard at the wrong end of the table too

I'll be catching the number 5 down there so I'll ask the driver to do just that.

Bays 1 Western 1 full time.

2-1 to Suburbs, two cracking strikes from their new Irish striker. Teen keeper Cameron Thomas had his first appearance after the previous keeper leaked about 19 in five games. Still question marks over their defence.

Yup 2-1 Nomads.. Case of another game where Uni dominate, play the better football and create a hat full of chances but just can't find the back of the net. Just need to cut the errors out of defense that opposition are capitalising on but guess you have to expect that with the style of football Uni play.. Ill give them that, at least they try and play, dont think they are too far away from banging in a few

Mainland League Scorers

Coastal Spirit 0 Cashmere Technical 3 (S O'Brien 2, O Evans) HT 0 - 2

Ferrymead Bays 1 (M Forshaw) Western 1 (L Dennison) HT 0 - 0

Nelson Suburbs 2 (D Walsh 2) Halswell 1 (A Barbour-Ryan) HT 2 - 1

University 1 (N Molijn) Nomads 2 (C Anderson , D Burns) HT 0 - 1

Points:Cashmere Technical 18, Western 16, Halswell 7, Bays 6, Suburbd 6, Nomads 5, University 5, Coastal 4, a strange looking table with Technical and Western the only sides with a positive goal difference.

Technical become the first side go six games at the start of the season without conceding a goal, with congrats to Technical's Oscar Evans (Ceri's son), Western's Luke Dennison and Universities Nikolai Molijn for scoring their debut MPL goal today.

And just for Vim sadly it is the first time that Coastal have ever sat of the bottom of the table.

Games for the next round: Western vs. Technicial, Halswell vs, Bays (The Hawks celebrate their 50th Anniversary over the coming weekend), Nomads vs. Nelson Suburbs and Coastal vs. University.

I knew Man Uniteds appalling performance this season had a purpose! Preparation!

You can ascertain what your opponent is afraid of by observing the means by which he attempts to frighten you

I'd take a 7th in the EPL to an 8th in the MPL.

Yep Nomads did scoer all 3 goals so what's all the tripe about your strikers being class..
Learn to hit the net and not the corner flags and you may make the keeper have to save something other than from his own players..
Uni finding life a bit tough at the moment.
Don't know what game you waed over?
Nomads played the better overall game and got the points, too many softies rolling over the park in the Uni team.
Passing the ball in your own half is fine if you can score when you do have the ball, so.
Still picking Uni to go down having seen them play twice. Shows how bad Nelaon played in the first round of the season.

I think blind obviously sums it up Metalmania! The game I watched should have been at least 5-2, from memory Nomads had 4 shots on goal to the students dozen at least, but i'm sure someone from there could verify that as they seem to record every game.. Must be a rugby supporter or clearly have no idea about the game to say Nomads played the better game! If you call belting the ball long everytime you get it playing the better game then clearly some deficiencies in your so called knowledge of the game.. Clearly Western and Tech fighting out up the top, the rest will be scrapping it out.. Hate to say it and I hope I'm wrong but so far I'm looking at coastal dropping down

Not that there are coaches setting around on the sidelines but on current form are any of the MPL clubs likely to flick their coaches in the next few weeeks?

Kind of silly Nelson Suburbs stopped entering. Guess they play MPL teams every week, the novelty of going to Chch has certainly worn off. But I did like the Nelson derby game where one team ended up playing the top Suburbs side for once.

Massive round of games tomorrow, god I hope we win.  Just think in 4 months time, as long as there is no rain cancellations, this round of games will be the last of the season. Could be a very crucial round with the top two may still be battling out, with others fighting for survival.

God I hope we win.

Halswell  1-1 Bays

Coastal 1-1 Uni

Nomads 2-1 Nelson

Western 1-3 Tech

Oh wow can you bet on the MPL on bet365?  I might check that out. That's just stupid, I won't check that out.

Anyways, sure to lose me money here are my picks:

Coastal to beat Uni 2-1.    Nomads to get beat by Nelson 2-0.   Western to lose 2-1 to Tech, and Halswell and Bays 2-2.
