With the top four sides all winning the gap between top half and the bottom half as increased:

Technical 21, Western 18, Bays 12, Suburbs 12, Halswell 7, Coastal 7, Nomads 5, University 5.

Will the gap increase in the next round (17 May as Chatham Cup next weekend) as the top four again play pteams in the bottom half of the table.

Cashmere Technical vs. Nomads

Ferrymead Bays vs. University

Western vs. Halswell

Nelson Suburbs vs. Coastal Spirit

Selwyn got beaten by Hornby 7-4.

Really, hard to believe that result after playing both those teams in the last few weeks, Parklands beat FC2011 1-0 today in a scrappy game on an awful field at Avonhead Park

Sounds like Selwyn didn't really get out of First gear (Only reporting on what I've heard as was busing feeling old and slow in another game)
But I did also hear from others about Avonhead Park that it wouldve made a good rough on a golf course.  Really high grass etc?

Not a lot of Referees about this weekend for other grades either (don't think PDL had anything which was odd)

Yeah our pdl vs chch utd didn't have a ref. Rough on a golf course is being polite, cows wouldn't look out of place on it!

Coastal v Western Men's Reserves had officials.

Going to be a long hard season in the WPL for promoted Parklands.

Was going to ref on Saturday an 18th grade game but Mainland pulled the game [on Friday] as not enough grounds for all games.
Went and did something else not football before watching an MPL game.

Some of the ref appointments didn't go online til late.... Unusually not many refs scheduled for women's div 2 Sunday morning, but this year that seems to have become the norm.... So does this mean less refs now? I know Brad used to do a Sunday morning, plus another 2 who aren't any more

Thought that was a decent game.

Uni had a couple of great chances in the first half, and were all over Tech between their goal (50th) and the equaliser (65ish).

Interesting to see Clapham playing,

Bit of shameless self-promotion - grab a copy of tomorrow's Star for a full preview of this weekend's Chatham Cup action by yours truly.

Tech were at full strength apart from Kelly I believe. As a neutral I thought it was a great game of footy. Scratching my head as to how Uni are where they are on the ladder. Tech keeper kept his side in the game with a couple of good saves in first half. Anyone know what the reason was the Uni coach was sent from dugout? If it was language I heard plenty of that from the Tech bench from the stands

Peter Taco Biema, Dan Terris, Dan Schwarz, Tom Schwarz, Aaron Clapham, Shaun O'Brien, Ash Wellbourne.. Just the 7 canterbury players who Started the game (one all white as well of course) along with Danny Boys, Nick Wortelboer and Cory Mitchell off the bench. Didn't see the game myself but heard Unis were on top

For me it was the best team performance of the season. Lots of positives for the coaching team to work with for remainder of the season. Plus an insight as to how the premier boys play the game.

The Women's KO Cup was a great game with University dominating the 2nd half, scoring in the 89th and then alot of extra time with both keepers pulling out some great saves with maybe experience getting Coastal over the line. They play each other in the league next Saturday.

Not as big a shock as you may think,
Classic match up in the next round CTFC or FB v Burwood?
I wonder if the money will by that draw?

Much better than a Div 6 side. Young quality side, could easily foot it in the 2nd or 1st Div.

DRAMARAMA in women's premier league today. Western v cashmere. Gist of it is: Full on cat fight. Western walk off the pitch. Ref abandons game awarding it to tech who were up at the time. Any eye witness reports?

Do not think it was a full on Cat Fight, only two involved, with a red given to one of the player. At this stage unsure if game was awarded or not, yet to come out in the wash. (I was not there)

On a postive note in the other Women's PL game was Parklands 0 FC Twenty11 0, so concratulations to Parklands for picking up their first league pioint.
