What no reserve team players then or youth wanting to step up to MPL.

Xavier has just taken up a part time job working in primary schools just like other FDOs have done. Taken after he has the Coastal gig and has been all cleared by Mainland so it's a big stretch to say there is a conflict of interest. Let's see if it works in practice.
"Hey 10 year old boy! You're really good you should come and play in my Mainland Premier team!"

Interesting was standing around the watercooler in the 'office at HQ' the other day an one staffer was surprised that Xavier was not required to stand down. Also understand was roll is 30 hours a work or is this wrong.
Has been all cleared by Mainland does that mean the board or the other FDO's, most which have former ties with Coastal.
Aware of at least one FDO that was not allowed to coached at MPL level, one was the 2014 season.
Was Xavier a FDO before or after he had the Coastal MPL gig?
I'm picking you know the answer to this so why the stirring? Did you miss out?

Thanks for Reffing the 1st Half btw. Yes Halswell played a good game today and were fairly well drilled. I got a sore back picking that ball up outta the goal. (2 years I haven't played in goal - first game in there - and I came up against that... so old and slow.)

Waimak fielded a very young team who did OK against a bigger, more physical Parklands side on the impressive looking Tiger turf at Kendal Park yesterday. Parklands won 2-1

Oh ok, maybe not then. I think Burwood ended up in Div 6 because they were in an U23 league which folded half way through the year, so they got plonked at the bottom.

Both Burwood & Uni had teams in div 4 for about half the season in 2013 when the U21 league folded which made it a 10 team league. Not sure why div 4 was picked & not div 6, I'm guessing due to it being more than the standard 8 teams is why Burwood had to drop to div 6 for last season.
Atleast Mainland are sticking to their rules about promotion/relegation even if a lot of people think Burwood should be playing higher.

After 9 years leading Mainland Football, CEO Mike Coggan has resigned from his position to pursue a new role as Chief Executive of Otago Cricket.
Mainland Football Chairman Craig Rhodes reflects back over the past decade with a fondness for what Football across the Federation has achieved during Mike's leadership period. "During Mike's term he has overseen the amalgamation of 26 entities and has led the changes in New Zealand's Whole of Football delivery. Financially he has delivered results year after year that provide much comfort to all stakeholders. I have personally enjoyed working with Mike as he continually works for improvement and growth. He leaves the game in excellent shape and has been the driving force behind getting our Federation in to the benchmark status it is to this day. Mike is highly regarded in our Industry and is often sought after for advice and guidance by other codes. Football loses one of the top CEO's in NZ sport today. We wish him all the best for his new role and now seek a new leader to carry the game forward".
Coggan himself reflects on what has been exciting and expansive growth over the past nine years. "The game of football in structure and delivery has changed immensely since the day I started. I doubt there is another sport in NZ quite so aligned in terms of national planning, programme delivery and growth outputs. Football now has its act together in all aspects; NZF funding, financial sustainability, sport credibility, national team's improvements, coach education, referee development, club delivery and support for NZF and Federation plans, women's game growth and development and Futsal growth. Together we have all achieved so much and I am extremely proud to have played a part".
Coggan heaps praise on the national Whole of Football plan. "It's here to stay and clubs across the Federation deserve much, if not all the credit for embedding it. At the same time that Whole of Football was introduced, clubs and facilities were hit hard as a result of the major earthquakes. Yet today the sport is stronger than ever. Clubs have embraced a new national approach to delivering football opportunities and the sport will be better for it in the long term".
Rhodes says it is a great time for a new CEO to come into the role; someone with fresh ideas to take Mainland Football through a new chapter. "Our next CEO will have an exciting entry into football with the FIFA U-20 World Cup just months away".
Coggan's last day before he heads south will be Thursday 2 April however a suitable handover to the incoming CEO will be supported in the coming months.

Amberley now Hurunui Rangers beat Waimak 3-2 a week or so ago.
They have some classy South American Dairy Farmers living in Culverden playing for them.

Sure do - guest rule going means you can have any number of guest players, not the max of 5.

Keep up Vim! In an email sent to clubs about a week ago:
'NZF have finalised Status of Players regulation and I can inform you that the Guest Player Clause has been removed, there will no longer be a restriction of non NZ residents'
With 3 weeks before 1st match, now would be good to get updated rules circulated properly.

Interesting that Mainland are allowing Coastal to play at Linfield Park where the facilities don't meet the minimum requirements of the MPL competition regulations!
(4) Changing Facilities:
- Only MPFL teams have access to designated changing rooms, 1 hour prior.
- Separate changing facilities are to be lockable with adequate bench space and shower facilities with minimum of 4 shower heads.
- Toilet and hand basin are compulsory.
That may make it tough for Mainland to Police some of their other rules and regulations!

Ouch. There are definitely showers and changing rooms at Linfield that were used last year so I'm not sure exactly what doesn't meet the requirements. We did have someone steal the metal from the locked up gas system but I think that's all been fixed.
Either way, all our MPL games will be at Cuthberts this year which has had an upgrade to the earthquake damage changing rooms which is why we couldn't play there last year. Mainland have been informed and I guess will change the draw.
