Carlos Valderrama v Zak Galifiniakas in the battle of the big hair at ASB tomorrow. Weather may destroy both hairstyles before the 90 minutes are up.

I will be at Garrick. Cmon Coastal!

3-2 to coastal.

Should be a good game in spite of the weather, will the slippery pitch play a part? Shame about Nelson - Bays game being cancelled.

Fc 0-0 nomads Have to commend nomads on the trial of a 7-2-1 formation. From 10 minutes in the bus was parked and didn't really move to far . Fc could have put away a few chances , and were unlucky not to walk away with 3 points

nice to finally beat CTFC

Did enough things right and a bit of luck to get home

Second goal was good football.

CTFC hard done by on a no advantage call late in first half, had to be play on.

Got very testy between the Bros and GK

One of the better decisions ive made lately was leaving the tripe on display at half-time to head to garrick. Standard between western and uni was terrible. Probably a good idea never to have these 2 on friday night football if mainlands trying to advertise a brand! Cannot see either of those 2 beating anyone else apart from each other. 2 very, very poor sides. Congrats to Coastal

Several inacurracies but you'll get the jist of it.

T and Zac were only marginally more outstanding than Louie, Camel, Eddie and the rest of the team. Bring on Monday.

Even so Western will be delighted to get the win and give their season some hope. Wonder if Uni were missing players today? After a first up win over Nelson and a close loss to Cashmere I would have expected a different result today.

Yes English Cup ties are set down for that day but imagine the thinking will be easier for the English Cup game to be played under lights later in the season and get the MPL game played asap as not many free days available and the latter part of the season depending on how Suburbs and Bays progress in the Chatham Cup.

Did you? Excellent.

Fantastic day out apart from the poor first half from our WPL.

Having supported this team in all its forms over the years this was our first ever win over Tech. Having sat through every skiting after-match speech at the WMC it was great to hear one of our own. A long long way to do however this was definitely a first.

I think the catalyst for Cashmere's resurgence was in part due to an 8-2? loss in an English Cup game a few years back where you had a convivial discussion with a staunch key Cashmere supporter at the end of the game Vim. Been a long time between drinks so to speak, the key being to keep progressing. Since then they've definitely lifted their game and it's right to say they have pretty much everything spot on at the moment in terms of structure, staff, facilities etc. Fair dues to their management team. Also JB he's always been a fair minded opponent and good for the banter. Good also to see other clubs like FC, Bays, Nelson etc trying to up the ante. There is still a gap between the ability of 5 or 6 clubs and the bottom 2 or 3 in the MPL which opens the door for aspirational clubs like United, Selwyn and Waimak. Once they get the formula right we will have cracking games like yesterdays every round for every team and won't that be awesome?

Speaking of catalysts, perhaps it is the fact that Broonie is now a Coastal player? He's brought the winning formula with him perhaps?

None in the game I watched beteen ChCh United and Waimak. United had to work ahead for the win, brought both the Dragons players off the bench early in the second half, bit of a hard watch.
