I see some Nike Cup 2014 jockeying as well.

And rumours of some transfers not being allowed in relation to this also.... Fair Enough Mainland stamping their authority with the rules, but why implement half way through the season when players were allowed to move at the start of the season despite being in the rules they had to commit to the team they played for in Nike Cup?

so you definitely know of players who played for one club in Nike 2013 but have played for a different club in the winter Mainland 2013 comp?
btw I thought NZF made the calls not Mainland around Nike?

Nomads approach to Nike Cup 2014: "we'll build a super team because that's the only way to progress in the comp".

So a number of APFA boys playing for schools have dual registered this year.

What's the odds on MF's Dual Registration "Rule",  another variation on FIFA / NZF rules tripping them up with NZF....

Doesn't dual registration apply to players wanting to play junior football for school and seniors for club?
Surely you would have to be 15/16 to dual register?

That's how I thought it worked as well
Coastal example player in school first XI but trains etc with PDL level.

You'd think so. One would have thought MF has managed to get itself in enough trouble this season over making up its own rules in contradiction to it's own governing body(s). NZF has alreday copped big $$ fine(s) over registration/transfer anomolies.

Unless everyone starts playing by the rules it is going to get very messy & expensive.

SE I don't know if it's school and/or clubs.
relative to Nomads I'm thinking they lost players who played Nike 2013 not added. I am wondering if plays denied transfers / clearance can look back a couple of months and say "so and so did, why not me?"

could be some interesting junior tables  if the "Varistes Div1" rule applies to juniors as well re: unregistered players?

there is 2 boys I can think of SE who I'd say  historically it's fair to say they are "from Nomads".
Another one obviously a lot less so, but parents will look at options at this level.

I could 100% guarantee you of 2 players I know that played for one team in the Nike Cup but were allowed to transfer to another team for the 2013 winter season. Having spoken to another club I know there is at least 1 additional player from that perspective.

Are you sure on this? How many players from the APFA have dual registered to play for clubs then?

For the 2013 Nike Cup Nomads were actually screwed over due to 'poaching' from FC Twenty who tried to raid a number of players after the Nomads coach stepped aside at the end of the previous season. As such a number of players missed out on playing in the 2013 Nike Cup

As above, Nomads did lose players after the 2013 Nike Cup (including some that missed out due to other clubs 'poaching')... Coastal lost a player after the tournament too....

As you say Foal, this should be a perfect appeal process for anyone else missing out

And there in lays the problem at times.... Parents!

Sorry for the few posts..... I tried to split the quotes with answers but it didn't come out very well!!!

Yep, they are playing for schools, have never played for Nonads but are dual registered as senior nomads players. Check the clearances pages.

That's a good juicy one. Club competition and all that. Against the rules. APFA cant enter Nike cup but WYNRS do under Onehunga. Thats Nomads thinking. Would NCR let regional teams or academies enter nat U19s? Would Coastal let academies or schools enter Tsunami or pre season tourney? Not likely, as they are set up to foster club football, right?

Care to show us which ones as the clearance page just looks like a lot of names to me.... I wouldn't have a clue who is Senior/Junior/Masters unless I know the player!

The only one I can find is

Ferrymead Bays Football ClubChrists CollegeBell, JoeApproved2013-04-042013-04-08

Who I've heard is being looked at by the PDL side and for the future..... hence the transfer!

So if the case is as you say, who is behind all the transfers?

I don't think there has been a season with more dramarama than this. It's fantastic. It must be like being an NRL fan and waiting for the next weekend of embarrassing news to bring your sport into the news.

Keep it coming I say.  What's next?  Media investigating double dipping Cashmere Technical/Wanderers or player payments at Bays?

Now that would be news!

the player you cited BW is APFA

his Dad works for Mainland as well.

the 3 clubs in 6 weeks is most likely down to Christs and Bays getting the 2012 transfer clearance wrong. However if you can only play for 2 sides in one year then he would surely be ineligible for Nike 2014 as Nomads is last cab off the rank for him.

I'm not sure if that is very fair on a 14 year old and he'd make any sides Nike squad IMO.

re: poaching BW, If I look at the Rep Coaches for 2013 S.I. Tournament I will be able to see who you are talking about specific to Nike age players?

That could well be something that has to be looked at Foal, I agree there... Would be nice to know all the additional players Nomads have signed purely for the Nike Cup (I'm not aiming this at you, other posters seem to dodge that part of the question).

I did put 'poaching' rather than poaching out right, as more of an alledgement rather than something that can actually be proved.... It did just seem convenient that after playing for representative teams last season they were all set to sign for the team in which their coach from that came from......

One player in question actually went as far as registering for their 'new club' before deciding against it. The 'new club' then tried to put the transfer through still even though the player informed them he would not be making the move.

Maybe a year in the life of Mainland Football could be made into a great tv documentary :)

I still have to laugh at that table! Ch Ch United lose 4 games and top of the pile, meanwhile Uni who have only dropped 2 points and conceded one all season sit 3rd, it's a joke really! NZF are obviously looking at the appeal pretty closely considering it has been in their hands for over 3 weeks now.. They must be going over all 60+ pages where Mainland who made their decision in one night obviously didn't!

That table is a joke. look at uni, 1 goal against. nzf should give uni 6 points back and lets have a quality and competetive mpl next year or will be same as this year with utd swapping with fc and ending up rock bottom with fuck all points. chch utd dont deserve to roll on in. Hoping fc twenty can gatecrash the party tonight. what good is it doing for the game?

Cannot see why Div 1 is only 14 games, no play-off's so 21 games would be better.
