Bays or Nelson? One too many DB's mate?

Tech only won 3 - 1 and Suburbs 4 FC 1 Gagame Feni 2 goals in his first MPL game of the season with Ryan (Skippy) Stewart opening the scoring with Sean Parkes the other goal.

Tech looked to be heading to the break one down but scored twice in the two minutes of added time to go in 2 - 1 up.

Think the problem may be the fact the Council opened the pitches at Tullet when they shouldn't have..... Teams turned up today from what I heard only for it to be postponed.... Why would either team want to postpone it whilst they were there?

Oh and don't forget that little thing called rain that happened over night and this morning.... but don't let that get in the way of sticking a boot in ;)

the rain was forecast and I know for a fact they were told yesterday it was unplayable.

Was told by a Nomads offical that was OKed by two of the match officials at 12:30pm but ruled out by the referee when he arrived from Ashburton later on.

The Div 1 title race may be all over as Mid Canty played out a scoreless draw with University, the game between Waimak and ChCh United not played due to a water logged pitch at Kaiapoi.

Vim Vim nice but dim it was a ripper!
How many times did Coastal hit the woodwork or pick out the keeper? Was certainly 2 points lost for them while Western were relieved to pick up a point although they are now off the pace for winning the league, will have to rely on the likes of Coastal, Halswell and Nomads taking points off Cashmere and Nelson. Great debut from Brennan Pitts, he can be proud of that performance today.

In Div1 if Waimak win all their remaing games will catch United. I hear that NZ Football are likely to announce the outcome of Universities appeal sometime this week so maybe a few twist and turns yet to come.

How late was the equalishing goal Vim.

FC closer to the drop, maybe only hope is to lift the shield against Bays in Friday night and then hold on to it for the remainder of the season, that may give them enough point. No pressure.

Cant remember if I've asked this before - Most likely have but I'm old.  But with FC looking like being relegated, will that mean the current Div 1 team will have to move down as well?  Also Selwyn Div 1 played FC with a 4-4 draw resulting.

Dragoon: Yes FC div one will only have one team surely. However stranger things have happened.

Someone should maybe tell the council that. Tullet looks ok for the pitches from a distance, but the second you step closer it is clear it's under water.... which is why the Women's Div 2 game was postponed this morning. Do the council not actual go close enough to check this and just look from the road or guess?

That goes for almost every pitch in chch at this point of the season.
The Nomads v Bays game, seems Bays got the result they wanted as MB didn't want them to play on a pitch that was not as bad as Barnett Park. He made it clear to the officials that was not keen to play if his highly paid stars would get to look ordinary like last time these teams played.
What happened when you turned up and played no matter what the pitch looked like, It's a winter comp.
Two games today due to be played on Tulett.
On another matter Western people have not taken heed of Mainlands warning about ref abuse.
Refed a game yesterday, and had to tell a sideline person [known to all and sundry] that yelling from 50metres away and calling the ref a ****cheat was not a good look. Took offence at the Western GK being pinged for picking the ball up from a back pass [not one player on the pitch moaned, so ups to them] and was also outside his penalty box.
These clowns don't help Western if a report gets sent to Mainland.

Scottie Rd sorry to hear your volunteer time was soured by the braying hordes. I was hoping things would settle down a bit because of the very poor publicity our code has had in the last 10-12 weeks. Most people if pushed will say "the standard of reffing needs to improve", but why will people help out / give it a go if they cannot get sideline support? It's a race to the bottom.

re: weather. Not promising for Inter-Fed's Mon + Tues is it. Fingers crossed something can be worked out.

Coastal Women ; yup massive result v Cash-Tech plus got it without playing the strongest XI . Go, go , go

As I stated above the Women's game was called :)... if the Div 4 men went ahead I'd be shocked as pitch was wet.... not as bad as the League Pitch, but still a lot of standing water

NTER FED VENUE CHANGE

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Share on Facebook Print this Article

All games now at ASB Football Park

We have been working hard to gain solutions surrounding the three day Inter Fed tournament, following the poor weather over the past few days.

Halswell Domain, Kendal Park and now Cuthbert Green are severely affected following overnight rain and inspection of grounds today.

The Tournament will still go ahead!

All games are now moved to ASB Football Park and we have rescheduled the timings and allocation of games.

Please see below the times allocated to each age group.

 ·9am- 11am:  12’s Boys and 12’s Girls

 ·11am – 2.30pm  13’s Boys and 13/15’s Girls

·Please note: There will be a New Zealand Football Under 20’s trial match played at ASB Football Park at 12pm to 1pm (60mins)

 ·2.30pm – 3.45pm  16’s Boys

·Please note: There will be a New Zealand Football Under 20’s trial match played at ASB Football Park at 4pm to 5pm (60mins)

 ·5pm – 7pm  14’s Boys

 ·7pm – 9.40pm  15’s Boys

You are expected to be there 45 mins in advance of your allocated time and free to go on completion of your allocated games

The draw of matches will be available as you arrive

Please could you do the following:

-Txt a friend

-Place it on your facebook

We are able to inform players from Football South, Marlborough, Nelson, West Coast, etc, however, we need to ensure that all local players are aware as much as possible.

Your added help would be appreciated.

The tournament will proceed and all the matches shall be completed in full over the coming days

Thanks for your support and understanding

We look forward to seeing you down here

 Thanks and Regards

Alan

will be seat of the pants stuff but hopefully all the kids get a run.

following week is Japan Cup in Asburton IIRC tue - wed - thu

might have a look at 1 day... think Coastal have their club (12's) in. Been to a few 12D1 games this season and found it enjoyable but in parts also of very high quality. Good to see younger (read; not parents ) coaching it too.

Cash Tech are sending their very strong 13's to Auckland next week as well. Be real good for them, been perhaps the strongest single team for a couple of seasons now.

The real success story of the league would have to be Varsities, gone from being a train wreck last year to tough to beat this year, well done!

Just before HT and University leading 3 - 1 but game closer than scoreline indicates.
