After making a blunder and missing an unchallenged header at the back, Medland has chased down the striker who was in on goal and clattered him. Probably a fair red card.
this resulted in missing a free head and also mistaking the wairarapa striker's upper leg for the ball.
an honest mistake.
he'll be back after his match out, hopefully with a headband.

In the Central League, Marist has struggled to score, with just eight goals in its six games although it has created plenty of chances.
But last week, in the first round of the Chatham Cup, it thumped in six second-spell goals to beat Gisborne City 8-2.
Green though will be looking for his defence to keep its concentration for the entire game.
Miramar boasts three strikers with former All White Jeremy Brockie, YoungHeart Manawatu's Dominic Rowe and Shane Medland, all experienced players above Central League level.
Miramar has had four wins and two draws and has scored 19 goals with just six against. Marist has been the reverse with four draws and two losses.
There's no doubt that with a strong YoungHeart influence in the Marist side, it has the players to match any team in the league. Like YoungHeart though, it needs to find its goal-scoring feet and the defence can't let opposition strikers freely get in behind the last defenders.
Even with its draw against another top side, Wellington Olympic, three weeks ago, Marist looked defensively weak at times.
watch out marist.

chotes goal was classy
Mulvey should have had three.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.
Given I was Wellington-bound for the FIFA U17 WWC Finals draw yesterday, I thought I'd shoot down early enough in order to take in the Miramar v. Marist encounter in the Central Region Premier Women's League.
My apologies to Peter Halstead I forgot to put him in, criminal considering he got 2
You would think Chote would have won that little competition at a canter.
Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Yes...Yes it is.
Fantastic young player, was invited to the Phoenix squad for their friendly against the under 23's.
Must be studying down here or something.
Amongst many others - sorry to those I've missed out, not thinking very clear - Tony, along with Wayne Shannon (at Uni in Otago - drinking with University I hear) Raymond How (still in Taupo, beating Tauranga City United), and his little brother Jesse (I think - could be wrong there) show that Taupo has a fantastic wee production line.
Former Solomon Islands' age-group goalkeeper Seamus Dendy Marten even came through there.
Real good times in Taupo (the small while I was there) - if anyone ever gets the chance to be involved with that club - please do. Fantastic pitch(es), good players, fireplace in the clubrooms after training...can't say enough about it.
