Gagey is an MAP first team player who, as mentioned, is an awful troll on the NRFL forum (usually posts as "Gage"). His masterpiece last year was convincing most of the forum that MAP, who had already wrapped up the Div 2 title, were going to forfeit their last game of the season to go play golf. He even had me convinced for a while. He got a special award at the MAP prizegiving last year for his efforts.

Buff did you watch the birko game yesterday?

Yep. Thought we were the better team. Salter's goal wasn't off either. I don't think ECB will be top 3 either, top half at best.

Played two games for Shore today, Waitemata reserves followed by Waitemata first team. Each was in 3x30 blocks so 6x30 all up. Won against reserves 4-0 lost against first team 3-1. Didn't concede in any of my 30 min blocks so i was happy.

Three for me, and two for them.

We had just played 90 mins and were tired. Result didn't matter it was about the football played and fitness levels.

Three for me, and two for them.

As an impartial observer didn`t see it that way
Thought ECB in general were half a yard faster to the 50 50s
How many times did the last Birko defender get caught with the ball ? should have converted to a few extra goals
Still think both teams will be near the top of their prospective divisions

Really didn't see that at all both teams had quite a few chances, with both teams not getting stretched to much cause of the pitch size..
lots of players got caught on the ball..Bays are good at what they do, so are Birkenhead would say easily the best two shore teams around ....

Although, to be fair, there are probably only about 3 people wjo use that forum anyway, and they spend all their time trolling each other. Complete waste of space that site. Shame cos it's a great idea.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

There's the odd gem of information come out on it but generally you're right it's a complete shambles.

I usually read it for the gossip and rumours (the recent stuff about the TKU women's team and having a go at Jeremy Ruane was kind of interesting), but that whole Ellerslie vs. Fencibles troll-war is just plain boring. But then what can you expect, it was set up by cow-cockies from the Waikato.

Watched the NSU - Waitemata ressies game, waitemata were pesh but had two full squads so not suprised they got over NSU 15 or 16 in the main game in that heat

Went to watch FHM v Oratia, good game won by the better side (FHM 1-2 Tia)

Buffon heard that NSU lost to Kelston Boys on Friday....WTF

Yep, they lost 2-0 to Kelston. Vague idea of what happened based on what i was told (didn't play), that we created a lot of chances but couldn't finish and conceded two soft goals.

Three for me, and two for them.

Would  have been better if they would have held on to some talented youngsters that went to manurewa!

Money or kit owing???

In the games ive seen hes strugging with a back injury...quite serious lead to believe shame!

pre season games this weekend
takapuna playing ranui, taka usually spend some dosh so should have a good team( prob better when national league finishes)
hib/coast v birko .. hib coast should do well this year.. suspect a mixed birko team.
glenfield 7 aside finals are on this week so think glenfield game been canned..

Anybody else got any pre.season games goss from over the bridge?
manurewa put 10 past waiuku

Heard Taka squad is quite small, but decent quality, they should pump Ranui. Few of the Albany boys trialling with Taka too I hear.

Not surprised Rewa smashed Waiuku - anyone heard if Sinclair is back at Waiuku this year?

Manurewa beat Waiuku 4 - 0, not 10 - 0!

Not vintage from either side. Birko missing key players Hibs missed a few too.

Three for me, and two for them.

Birko seem to play well v good teams then when they play lower teams who battle look like they cant be bothered!!!
Maybe they think there better than what they are?
Hib Coast could do ok i think..

takapuna were pretty poor by all accounts as well they lost to ranui

Manukau City scraped a 4-3 win against Pukekohe on Saturday, after they were 2-0 and 3-1 down. Scored the winer with 2 minutes left. On the evidence of that game, they are gonna struggle in Div.2

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Waiuku will be struggling without him, class player pretty much carried their team both times we
played them last year. Good addition for MAP with Colligan gone, if he has gone to anderson Park.

Couple of results I heard from the weekend:

Taka 0 - 2 Ranui on Saturday
Taka 4 - 0 Fencibles on Sunday

I heard that Albany only have 4 first team players
Permalink Permalink

Think Takapuna have quite a few! Pretty poor though big junior number base, 4/5 good pitches..its all there for Albany

They just seem to hire muppet coaches and then you get avarage players .

Latest goss about Albany - beat Forrest Hill 4-2 last night in a preseason game. Word is that they have a Herbert in charge of the first team now, Ricki's nephew. Not sure of his first name.
I wouldn't be writing them off just yet.

Went and watched ECB reserves play Hibiscus. Thought that game was pretty even but bays were 2nil up when I left.

I also watched Glenfield prems play Takapuna. Not to sure if it was there reserves but Glenfield dominated. Hitchen in there Midfield was sh*t.

Also saw a bit of The Albany vs ....... A blue and white team looked also pretty even.
