Who do you think will win that one Big T?

I reckon 3 Kings v Central will be game of the round in the Prems, home advantage for 3 Kings will decide it I reckon.

Here's my picks:

Melville 1 - 2 One Sports
3Kings 3 - 2 Central
E Suburbs 0 - 3 Bay Oly
Manurewa 4 - 0 Waitak
Ham Wand 2 - 1 ECB

MAP 1 - 2 Papatoetoe
FHM 1 - 1 Ngara
Lynn Avon 2 - 2 Taka
Glenfield 2 - 0 North Force
Ellerslie 2 - 1 Birko
Albany 2 - 2 Metro

Kura 1 - 3 Mangere
Fencibles 0 - 1 OMU
Springs 2 - 0 Matamata
Warkworth 1 - 0 Shore
Hibs 2 - 2 Waiuku
Manukau 1 - 1 Tauranga

Had training so I missed the 2 hamilton matches, but great win for wanderers, though it did come at a cost it seems. Melville's bogey side for whatever reason is Onehunga Sports, so not an unexpected loss

You know any thing about the ECB wanderes game?

East Coast bays went 1-0 up when Raymond How back pass fell short of the keeper and Nathan Palmer tapped in.

East Coast Bays should have been awarded a penalty for a clear hand ball but for whatever reason it wasn't given

There was a heated moment during the first half when David Samson had Joe Bresanan by the throat on the ground . It resulted in yellow cards for both players. I thought David Samson was lucky not to get a red .10 mins later he should have been sent off after a late challenge on their keeper. He had know intention in going for the ball

In the second half things changed when Mark Jones scored from a goal mouth scramble. Wanderers second goal came from a well worked move down the right hand side which resulted in a good cross to the far post for Dave Smith to head home.

Straight after that Wanderers lost David Samson to a suspected broken leg. There was no other player involved but he must of fallen awkardly.Lets hope its not broken but it didn't look good. The game was held up for about 10-15 mins

Wanderers third was scored straight after the injury by Elliot Collier when the Bay Keeper threw the ball straight to him to wlak into the goal

Good start to the season for Wanderers but their depth will be tested as they will lose Samson and also Frishy didn't play becuause of injury

Anyone see the ellerslie birko game? Heard birko dominated. They never show up against middle table teams then play a good team and play how they should

Word is that Div 2 Manukau v Tauranga game was called off today when Manukau player (large striker) punched the ref and broke his jaw. Not a good look at all for the club after they've done so much to get back into the league.

Yeah watched the game. Birko Well in control . Kept the ball. Off ellerslie most of the game. Ellerslie keeper Was excellent. Still think ellerslie be up there at the end

Seen that keeper play, he normally performs well. Heard the first goal was a wonder strike by Sheldon and nothing keeper could do, other was a pen. I also think ellerslie will be up there. Should finish second

When I heard about this I wondered if it was that guy. My mob played them in a pre-season game and he was swinging punches then. Thug should never be allowed on a football pitch again. I hope an assault charge follows.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

All I know Jag is the description of "large striker". I'm picking it's the big islander guy us as only other big guy in the team would be McClure and don't think he's that sort. We never had any niggle against them in round 2, seemed like a decent bunch but obviously not the case in other games.

Anyone got mroe details on the incident?

Thats criminal. Id like to think the club would immediately release him without even bothering to see what happens next, NZF to dish out a lifetime ban, player to end up in court.

Back from the best game I have been to in a long time. Manurewa up 5-0 at halftime, 2 goals were dodgy, 1 very so, and certaintly weren't as dominant as the scoreline suggests. Wanderers get it back to 5-3, with Rewa's keeper getting a yellow for a definite red card offence, before Rewa score a late goal to make it 6-3 FT.

I think this is the only ever time a team which has been down 5-0 can claim they were unlucky to get a result

Can't agree NBomb, HW were to poor in the first half to call it a great game, the second 45 was good viewing .Agree re: red card and dodgy goals, one a definite off side, thought all three right wingers and rewa midfeild played well. HW defence all at sea

Did anyone see these stories on close up this week?  Has since been a talking point on radio sport too.

Kicked around

Brendan Wyatt is a talented footballer with the world at his feet, but he says he is being bullied by his own school for making a stand over his playing future.

The 17-year-old is in his final year at at Westlake Boys High School and up until now he has played his football for both school and club, but this year that is not possible.

His decision to stick with his club has led him to the principal's office where he says he has had privileges stripped from him, including being able to go to his own school ball.

Is this a case of the school playing the bully? Former All White Noah Hickey and Manoj Daji from College Sport give their views.

Anger over school's stance
Last night's story about Brendan Wyatt and Westlake Boys High in Auckland has prompted more people to come forward with similar stories.

The promising footballer says he has been punished by his school for choosing to play football for his club.

While supporting the school in general, others are backing Brendan, saying Westlake has got it wrong on this issue.

Former All White coach Kevin Fallon runs a football academy at Mt Albert Grammar and is one of our most successful junior coaches.

He talks to Mark Sainsbury about the issue.

And Westlake Boys headmaster David Ferguson, plus the chairman of the board of trustees, James Sclater, give their side of the story.

About time someone stood up to these schools. I applaud Brendan and his family for taking a stand.

School football is shit anyway, why these schools obsess over players playing for them i have no idea.

Three for me, and two for them.

I agree, About time some one stood up. But I can also see the point of the school, The boys have signed this agreement so they should play for the school. If they did not want to they should have gone to another school and just played club football

Chat Cup this weekend.

Birko vs Ellerslie on Sunday should be an absolute cracker.

Three for me, and two for them.

Anyone know if suspensions which happen in the NRFL are served during Chatham Cup, or have to be served in the league?

Wondering if the Lynn-Avon keeper will be playing on Saturday or if he'll be suspended due to red card last weekend...

You sure mate? Word at training last night was that he is ok to play in the Cup and will serve suspension in the league.

I guess we'll see tomorrow anyway...

Yes. Last year Jack Hobbo was facing suspension before an important cup match, so Birko moved a league match forward to a Wednesday evening before the cup to get his suspension out the way.

If Zane plays tomorrow i suggest you put forward a complaint.

Three for me, and two for them.

Zane didn't play on Saturday, but it didn't really help our cause as every shot we had seemed to blaze over the bar or go wide of the post, frustrating.

So back into the league this weekend and looking forward to it. For my lot it's a game we really need to be winning.

Big clash for Div 2 this round though is clearly the Shore v Hibs game. If I wasn't up North on Sunday I'd definitely be heading along to that one. I'm picking Shore to win that at their place.

Glenfield v Taka and Papatoe v Ellerslie should be good matches in Div 1.

Suburbs v Waitak in the Prems will also be an interesting game to see if Waitak are indeed coming right and can deal to the Suburbs kids.

Wanderers 3 Central 2. Were down 2-0, then 2-1, then scored 2 in 30 seconds which broke Central. Seems like it's a race for 3rd, Wanderers could definitely get it

Can confirm was one match suspension followed by a 'learn your lesson' playing for reserves on Saturday. Lynn Avon losing 3-1 to Ngara.

Big Derby game down here this weekend, Wanderers v Melville, and I think I fancy Melville to sneak out an upset. Either way I feel it'll be some game
