Please don't urinate on the pitch

It looks as though the changing rooms and toilets are NOT open and wont be until all the paving/ground work on the road-side is complete. However, the clubrooms and the toilets within ARE open. The changing rooms for us last night was the clubrooms southern end.

And holy shit it hurts when you go down on that pitch, i put in a slider within the first 2mins and took the skin off my knee cap

I was able to use the clubrooms today. They are fine with it as long as you take off your boots before you go in.

Better than changing your shoes just to run across the mud to the bushes.

The Mornington Golf club toilets are also open. These are publically available and you dont even need to change your boots.

Would you piss on your carpet at home?

It's not like the soil absorbs it,it's an artificial turf.

I have pissed on my carpet before, more than once... intentionally though? No. Drunk? Yes. Was it the end of the world? No.

Yeah ok someone pissed somewhere, bad idea, he realised this and apologised, point proven. Massive over reaction. Theres now about 20 different versions of this story flying around and i hear stories around the water cooler from people whose only link to football is their 8yr old son who plays up the line for Wests. Thats how widespread and blown out its become.

Fact is, urine is sterile, saliva is not. How many people spit on the artificial? Heaps.

You aren't called Michael Aitken are you?

Also judging by your various avatars your urine might not be as sterile as you think it is.

They aren't exactly tough rules to follow. And you can understand the strict approach from the council given how much it has cost. I actually appreciate that they give a sh*t about the grounds, last thing you want is for them to turn to crap.

Hopefully now with all the attention on it, there is a bit of awareness about how important it is to follow the rules, and it can serve as a warning to everybody.

I'd rather not answer that question!

(but hypothetically - how much does each one cost?)

if you're paying for it, hypothetically, it isn't a no-choice scenario. I can't answer your question but l guess it depends on who you are and who you've pissed off (or on)

He's not getting any younger and just had to go, really could not hold it in. Prostrate check mate? - seriously.

When we played against Greenie the other week on Te Whaea we were taking the piss.  Does that balance up some of the people leaving urine on the pitch?

Incredible stamina. No shame. Yellow Fever.

Has the world gone mad!!!!  Just read that CF are giving the lad 6 game ban and a fine.  It seems that if you strike someone you get a lesser punishment.  I agree he perhaps should have taken a fine but 6 games?????  From what i know he nipped behind the floodlights just before kick off.  Does this mean that ANYONE, ANYWHERE in Wellington caught short before a game is now liable to 6 games and a fine????  Please let's keep the whole thing in perspective.  No one got hurt (you would only get a 5 game ban) and no one died.  The lad got caught short and was trying to be discreet.  On the precious new turf - a huge error of judgement but let's not blow it out of proportion as CF seem to be doing.

Why do some feel the need to take a chillybin of alcoholic drink to a match anyway?? Surely that's bringing the game into disrepute???

psses me off seeing teams in our changing rooms drnking their own beers after the game like it is a pub - then not coming into the clubrooms. Its ok now and again - and ok if they still come into the local clubbies - but some teams do this every week. Rather anti-social if you ask me.

I think that CF rae getting frustrated having to deal with stuff like this. YOu'd think that adults would have more sense... then again...

Two seaons back a guy squared up to me on the pitch. Stinking of drink and gone all agressive.  (about fifteen minutes in) anti-social alirght...    *shakes head*

As said above  - SPEND YOUR DRINK MONEY IN THE CLUBROOMS!!!

Id like to think so but i cant help but feel 'mistreatment' of this pitch will continue. Im still seeing people drinking sports drinks on the pitch and leaving bottles, tape, other rubbish behind. Ive seen a couple of players with mud caked boots. Some kid at the Nix the other night dropped a 600ml Coke in the warm up area which promptly erupted everywhere. Someone else was sitting down with a group of people drinking a beer just inside the fence on the surface when i was leaving. I even drove past during the day last week and saw two good size dogs having a run around.

This whole things going to turn to sh*t super quick if the Council stay this strict on these issues, i can honestly see us all being told 'Tough luck, now get the fuck out'. ALL clubs really need to sit all their coaches/managers down and just lay it out that if a single player fucks around then thats it for him for the rest of the season on this pitch.

well we're talking about players who spit or urinate on the pitch - lets say you take your pick from the masters grade in question, any player. Urine or saliver?

...................................Agree totally....but teams say it is 100% cheaper to buy the beers at a supermarket than at the clubrooms.....some come back for 1 ,but clubrooms may become a thing of the past with the various kick-times/days we now have.

ps....wish the council would get all uptight over dog crap on pitches too.....don't here much on this from them.ChopperHarris2011-07-15 18:28:06

@ AJ
Point is, I think anyone in their right mind would rather a bit of saliver on them over someone's urine. and I personally think the act of urinating is far worse than spitting, whether it be on someone or notTopLeft072011-07-15 18:35:03

i agree too however my team is largely made up of students who will never pay more than $2 for a beer. So occasionally we have a box in the changing rooms, and I mean occasionally as in we've done it maybe three or four times max. I do think it's important to go back to the clubrooms for a beer though, but half my team can't wait to get home and sink their teeth into a box of wine or brenner. I imagine their attitudes will change when they get jobs though
