Although it makes me feel ill, I agree with Nightz and AngusBeef.

The level of training the referee has is no justification for violence.

I won't comment on abuse, because if I'm honest I hardly occupy the moral high ground.  So far though I haven't actually hit Mohammed.  Only Dale.

Anyone verbally or physically abusing someone on the football pitch should be given an E and a copy of Screamadelica. Problem solved 4 eva.

What is your club policy on reds and yellows? Was shocked to hear that some  clubs are paying the fines that players run up!!!!

Lower Hutt have protested against the eight game suspension for their womens goalkeeper who after the game knocked out a player with a punch. Pretty much lost me all interest in Lower Hutt as a club. Eight games is a joke in the first place.

That is a joke that they are protesting that. What is their argument, that the other player headbutted her fist?

Fuck this stupid game

There's no suggestion that I won't have to pay the $60 fine for that ridiculous red I got last week.  But interesting to hear that the Lower Hutt keeper is even crazier than I am. Doloras2011-05-15 16:58:21

Is there more to the story? What reason would you have for protesting a punch after the game?

Lucky if she isnt facing an assult charge, about time one of these was taken further with the law and maybe people would think twice about throwing a punch. Its not acceptable in the street so it shouldnt be acceptable in our sport.

What the hell. It was the keeper from Lower Hutt? What the hell are they protesting it for?

From what I understand the Karori team they were playing had a large amount of decent players. They smashed Lower Hutt quite comprehensively, and were mouthing off all game. And the Lower Hutt keeper went mental and dropped one of the Karori girls after the final whistle.

In no way am I defending the Keeper, and 8 games does seem very token. But there was some serious niggle before hand, and it seems like the Lower Hutt keeper just lost the plot.

Simply repeating what I have been told. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I am in no way trying to sledge anyone off

Brawling men and women! What a bunch of losers. Hit them with assault cahrges through court and that is the only way they will learn. Have no mercy!

right so you are allowed to go round dropping people when you get humped?? Very strange theory. I reffed the game and there was no niggle apart from Lower Hutt abusing me about my reffing. Supposedly the Karori player sledged the goalie (called her a man or something- I didn't hear anything) so she walked up to her after the game and kapowed her.

Chick I played Gaelic football against once accused me of having facial hair, but I didn't deck her. I just gave her a look that suggested that I would eat her liver with fava beans and a nice chianti after the game and she backed off after that.

hmm maybe I read it wrong. And I'm always angry. Anyway, 'mouthing off all game' is a massive yarn by somebody

Can your soccer umpires abuse back at players? An eye for an eye, is that fair?

Don't have 'umpires' in 'soccer'. Just saying.

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

I was at a Canty Utd game when the linesman pushed the player. He was stood down for 4 weeks or something.

Some players get far too up and close to Ref's. Did they not get taught at Kindy to respect private space?

I know there is at least one club in the NRFL that will pay player fines if they received cards while "taking it for the team" - those are the words of a top Auckland Coach not mine. But they don't pay for dumb stuff like dissent.

It's not really that surprising considering this is a fairly common practice even at the highest levels in Europe.

and now the goalie is getting only 5 games after the discipling comm knocked it down. So much for justice - lets all go around flattening players after the whistle

Did Lower Hutt argue that the assault was outside the football match. So that it was more an incident outside the jurisdiction of capital football? (but well inside that of the police). It does make me wonder where the boundaries of capital football's powers are. Hypothetically what would be the case if this incident had happened in the car park say 20 minutes after the game and the parties involved were not wearing any of their club's uniform?

I should point out I find this behaviour unacceptable, I am just wondering where capitall football draw the line between football incidents and incidents that are not football related.

If two central league players fight on a saturday night after "a beer or two" in the streets of wellington and they are charged by Police can they be banned by CF? It happens in professional sport.

Does anyone know the answers?

not anything to do with that.
Suspensions can be 2-8 games in the Regs, and after LH talked some bollox it was found to be middle of the road  -thus 5 games. I guess the bottom line is dont mention someones physical appearance when you have an argument otherwise anything goes.

I don't understand... The only difference between the girls one and the Capital 18 assault seems to be, that one was between players and other between player and ref. One was after game, one during... Difference 5 games compared to 5 years!

There has always been a large ddifference between assaulting another player and an official.  Although neither is particularly savoury, you can at elats argue that there is some provacation or potential explanation involved with another player.  Striking a ref can just never be justified in my mind...some may disagree
