Didn't CF bestow this award on them last year or the year before?

I hear their flagship 14 JPL have all refused to return including coach and manager

Whats happening there then - That is a hell of a turnaround (if the award was merited that is!!??)

G14 JPL squad on their website.  I understand only 5 players missing from last year, including the coaches son and therefore the coach.  Gone to Lower Hutt.

lower hutt have poached players for years, ask anyone from Nae Nae, Wainui, Stokes Valley, or Eastbourne, so this latest little underhanded move is no surprise.

I heard he wanted a senior coaching job at the club and they said no as they dont need any senior coaches so he spat the dummy and jumped ship. Just a rumour though may be wrong.

....I'm confused - did Lower Hutt underhandidly poach all 5 then or did they underhandidly arrange for the SO committeee to knock the coach back so they could get those kids and teach them to swim?
If they poached them then thats awesome poaching considering they were at the the Junior Club of the year!
If it was the coaches issue was this the job that was on the website as all applications to P Gulley and later SO would like to announce coach as S Gulley/S Easthope? Could have been a different one aye?

I find local footy politics a yawn so I'll go on those forums and threads

Terminator is bored - can somebody sing him/her a song or something?

I'm being facetious.

Great thread.

Can't wait to find out what happens.

Since when was one JPL team a factor in these awards anyway. I would be interested to know how they decided who wins, i doubt very much it has anything to do with results, more likely coaching, funding, support etc.(which i can easily see stop out doing well at).

Why are Armchair's feathers so ruffled anyway? One of his kids move to Lower Hutt with a coach who sounds like good riddance?
Annoyed that Lower Hutt, a club governed by a junior board, can't even win such a "prestigious" award?

Yawn.

There was talk of the Stop Out coach and his son jumping ship last year. So no surprise that he went to Lower Hutt this year. Then it was just 4 other players following.
I'm an optimistic pessimist.
I'm positive things will go wrong.

God another one so bored but just needs to post - maybe not all the way from the States though!

My couriosity is certainly ruffled- How indeed are these awards made? If it is for coaching then they obviously don't look after or recognise their good ones - So that just leaves funding and support - wtf does support mean

Not sure what set up governs what at Lower Hutt but I'd bet their U-19 win seemed a bit more attractive to those kids than some' prestigiou's CF award

However all thats a sideshow - I am wondering how you go from club of the year or whatever to such a walkout. Whats happening there - is it also why Besim left too - all sounds like a club where the Junior board should run things if they get the awards???

Jeeeee... gonna take a wild guess and assume that armchair has some ties to Lower Hutt, I would go so far to say that he may even be involved in this 14th grade he speaks so passionately about.
Wests were the winner of this award last year and Stop Out the year before.... As previosly stated by deretsim, it is awarded by a points based on JPL and Promo results. Not really something that is debateable or a grey area, you either had the best results as a club in these grades or you didnt???? not rocket sceince armchair...
Why don't you just confess to us all your actual personal problems with Stop Out?
Most other people seem to be of the opinion that it is a club working hard on its youth development, no doubt Lower Hutt is another club doing the same... good on them both I say.
Your always gonna have the odd fall out between clubs/players and coaches, every club has them... even your beloved Lower Hutt.

He has been treated shabbily by a couple on the committee and decided enough was enough.

I know some of the people on the junior committee, Stop is a very good junior club, and people are putting a lot of time and effort into those teams (including the like of scotty easthope). unfortunately they have very few senior teams to coach. Their 3rd team is cap 8! So unless they were going to gamble on this guy as their first team coach they had no position available for him to take. So he moved, which i think is probably fair. I wouldn't question stop out's commitment to their junior players though. That is what they do best. As for Besim? look at his track record with the resources he had available and that question answers itself

Ender  (of lives and careers )  You obviously missed my dig at Hutts Funding - but carry on whatever

Fair f*cks to the junior committee for getting an award, shame their hard work is being spoiled- but if two coaches and a team left at any other club questions would be asked on here, but when its asked about SO its.....
