i know they have some new teams this year, which all get slotted in at the bottom divs, so maybe if a few teams don't get it together and pull out, they will merge them into one. Or maybe after one small round they will reshuffle them?

Lots of new teams,  they only went down to Cap 13 last season which had 14 teams.

I wonder if we can put the increased numbers down to the Phoenix effect?  - I expect we can!

I welcome you to come down to April 5 opening day Nightzz for our Club Day. I will give you a tour of the dressing rooms, let you help put up the nets, let you watch me get sent off, then you are welcome to come back to the clubbies with the other 18 teams and I will buy you a beer and you can tell me all about how good Karori is and how good Mossy is. Whatya say fella

yep certainly one of Karori's new teams was started by an ex-rugby player who has been frequenting the Ring.

Those rugby boys and their after-match antics

Capital 4 kicks-off a week earlier on Mar 29. We started a week early last year* too  - what's with that?

*Which was dumb as it was the long weekend and half the team were missing for both us and our opponents.

Re 14a and 14b, the new teams are mainly in 14b and to be fair to them the League will play one round of fixures (7 games) then re split the teams into a 14 and 15 division. If the new teams are as good as they told the league they should end up in the 14 and good old PC Mana will be down in the 15!

One of the upper hutt sides is quiet good I believe, it has a handfull of last years 2nd team.  So it seems a bit silly that they have to start at the bottom.  If the results go the way i think they will, it will get boring and they will just stop playing.  Which is annoying as no one likes a default.

That would be the clubs fault for putting them in down there.

Understand both sides. Yes new teams start at the bottom...many have in recent seasons.

But large clubs like Upper Hutt can move players to higher teams! They dont have to send ex Div 2 players to a 14b team.

The rules are not always consistently applied however; I seem to remember Stop Out basically choosing divisions for their teams when I was there. One year we were in Div 12 then the next we suddenly were put in Div9 !

In the last three season PC Mana have had to suffer shellackings by the top new teams inc Brooklyn Northern last year, Island Bay Rampage the year before, and Waterside Stags the year before! probably happen again this year!

Go the Slayers, Martians and Destroyers (real div 14 teams!!).

Just so you know. This team is a new team that were predominantly the older players from UH 2nd team last year and do not train. UH did not have a spare spot to include them any higher so needed to start down the bottom unfortunately, although that could change.

Absolutely see your point. The problem is though that you have established teams in their grades and then someone decides they want to start a social team with their mates. The club would not move any of the other teams to accommodate. The only way they could play higher would be if another club team pulled out.
