What is the worst thing you have seen/heard about in capital football this year?

I was speaking to a ref who controlled a capital 16 game.
He said an Olympic player was sent off after warnings to calm down, this player then flashed his testicles to the ref.
Amazingly in the same game he had to send off another Olympic player for punching the goal keeper because he "thought" the keeper was going to punch him after the keeper gave him a verbal for kicking him. This player then went on to punch a female supporter and and also hit the ref.

Humour me and tell me what the worst you have seen/heard of this year.

I heard from a friend that yesterday his daughter turned up to play and there were THREE new players (this is twelve games into the season) taking the pitch for her team. They'd never been seen before and her club don't have a second team.
Friend's daughter and two others stood on the sideline until coach said "you're on". At that point the final whistle went.

Profile pic. Should you be interested. Lakhsen, on the right, lost touch with him.
Mohammed, on the left, I'm still in touch with. He's now living in Agadez, Niger. More focused on his animals now as tourism has dried up. Is active with a co-op promoting local goods, leather work and bijouterie, into Europe.

Heard the same story from others. Wife of goalie went on and the Olympic player punched her!

cap 10 about 5 years ago, game out in miramar, Miramars centre back got in a argument with our captain, guy from Miramar kinghits our captain knocking him out cold, our captain starts having a small seizure. Looks at him for a while, runs off the pitch, grabs his gear, jumps in his car and drives off. This guy still plays football I've seen him playing for their capital 5 team. If I ever get on the same pitch as him I will seriously break his leg. Most cowardly thing I have ever seen in my life.

The mighty Seatoun Seagulls VS Brooklyn Div 1 4-5 years ago. The big Centre back from Brooklyn held one of our players on the ground then continued to lay into him for a period of time. Big brawl werupts. Both players get sent off and continue to fight in the changing room...but I've just checked and that wasn't this year!Tyler2009-07-27 17:00:46

Sad but true it would appear.

It would have to take a low life to do that.
Would would or should be a suspension for that?
As well as playing "reveal the sausage to the ref"
Hitting the ref?

It would be very interesting to go to their next game to see if they act like animals again or if the club has taken some control.

Ahmad Elrich in a Phoenix shirt, closely followed by G**. George and Cleberson were sh*te  but were made less horrifying because their efforts were actually quite funny

Apparently I'm apathetic, but I couldn't care less.

Having played that olympic team I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest....without any specific instances they were the biggest nightmare of a team to play against. Although one does spring to mind, when the ref blew for full time with olympic in possesion in their attacking third the guy with the ball turned round and said right in the refs face 'F*ck you referee you're a w*nker' - quite humerous

The lower divs are another country- they are pretty lawless and rely largely on the goodwill and commonsense of the participants- it would be nice to think that there would be repurcussions for such behaviour, but we know there won't be-its too easy to hide in the vast wastes of numberless shirts, and incorrect team cards.

the onus needs to be on team and club captains to instill positive values-

thats me holding my breath.  and thats me passing out while waiting.

these stories should get back to cap Football and they should act upon them, surely

a few years back a certain seriously stupid team was dropped down a few divs after our div petitioned cap football about their behaviour- we actually wanted them struck off, but now they just enjoy an even more icognito existence

I was under the impression that that Olympic side were on a $1000 good behaviour bond.  I hope these incidents were passed to Capital football as from what i can see (by now) they must have coughed up $3000 or $4000 or should have been kicked out which was my understanding of the agreement Capital Football made to let them back in to competition.

A couple of times this game ended in rumbles! Some dude from Brooklyn headbutted our defender and then one of our players ran about 50 metres to the headbutetr and it was all on.....except for me who ran towards my Mummy

That's the infamous Battle of Seatoun Park. I understand a corner flag was used as spear.

In a different sense, and also years ago, the worst thing I have seen was an own goal. We had,  a million years ago, a player of huge talent in our side but he was continually at war with himself.

By way of examples , one time I saw him get the ball, in the D, as it fell from a corner. He then went around everything in front of him , including the keeper, and scored. In another he made a superb/great save in one game diving away to his right to push it away. Only problem was he was playing on the wing at the time.

The own goal. We were playing Wellington City at Newtown Park and he seemed irked by a couple of things. He turned and from about twenty five metres hammered it past his own keeper in to the net. Then took his shirt off, threw it away and stormed off the pitch. dairyflat2009-07-28 14:34:16

i actually didn't think the Vauxhalls were that bad-despite the fact that my capital football debut was against thme and i broke my arm (rock hard wakefield pitch was to blame)

yes, they did cheat and yes they were inebrietaed before, during and after the game, but they had a certain chutzpah to their indiscretions, a comedic villainry that at least left you laughing at its audacity, even as you were left licking your wounds.

It sounds like that Olympic team has no such charm nor comedy value and should incur the wrath of sanction.

Playing for Petone reserves at Farrington Field (then Centennial Park) and our full back got in  a pushing match with the Wgtn Coll (playing as Miramar ressies) winger. Our full back pushed him to the ground and proceded to punch the crap out of him. Prob got in a dozen good hits. This was just outside my pen box and the opposition keeper was in there with his gloves off before me. No comment on who that keeper was but it was before his pink shirt days. Our full back was suspended for 4 games by CF but the club banned him for the rest of the season. Never saw him again at the club.

Its no longer a problem.

The not so infamous battle of Kilbirnie Park maybe 7 years ago.

Marist Thirds vs Wellington United Ninjas (don't know what they were actually called: but they were almost all from one country in south east Asia or other and had a propensity for martial arts).

Ninjas 2-1 up with 3 to go, marist get a dodgy offside goal to make it 2-2...Marist Ref goes over to the Ninja crowd (maybe 30 or so spectators) who have been increasingly disgruntled and vocal throughout the match to, what I assumed at the time, was make some kind of placatory remarks and tells them effectively to F off, by yelling, "You lot, F&*k off!!"

Crowd erupts onto the field and all hell breaks loose, Round house and fly kicks are going left right and centre, with marist side vs Ninjas plus Ninja rent a crowd. Worst particular incident was one of our guys getting bitten on the head...can't have been to nice for the biter...the dude had dreadlocks. The melee spread to encompass half the pitch and went for about 5 minutes before it settled, only for Marist coach and ex Colchester Pro, R Cotton ('Elsinki!) to kick it off again by running in from the sideline and throwing a massive slo-mo airhook...he had started running from halfway when the brawl broke out...

In one of lifes little ironic twists...the Ninjas joined Marist several years later and played as Marist International

They were not passed on,  When the woman that got hit took a step towards him he backed away and wouldnt come near her.  I would really like to play that team again.  Im sure there might be a few rough tackles, (not the one shown to the ref) Spurs crazy2009-07-28 17:21:13

there are many, many ironies surrounding that team- not least that they now belong to Island Bay- i think-pursuing a nomadic lifestyle that comes from burning too many bridges perhaps?

when they belonged to Wgtn Utd they challenged us to a pre-season 'friendly'- it was all going well until with 5 mins to go & with them winning 3-2 (in a pre season 'friendly') our ref called them up for off side. cue karate spin kicks and verbal abuse- and us scratching our heads, vowing never to play them again

from memory they were mostly chinese with a few cambodians and vietnamese also

Yup, it starts to get annoying when they put 8 past you like they did the first time we played them back in the mid-1990s.

Though I have to say they seem to have mellowed in the last couple of years - our games against them over the last two seasons have actually been quite good, with no problems at all.

Played an all indian uni team where we were leading by a few goals.  One of there players was the ref and late in the second half he made a dubious call. They all lost it and proceeded to chase him out of the park while throwing their boots at his head! It looked like something out of Benny Hill, it was hilarious. We were left standing there with stunned looks on our faces wondering if the game was over or not. We won by default

The worst thing iv seen is probably when the Olympic keeper id say about 5 years ago broke his jaw (Findley), after Mikelly Zonotto (brother of Mauro the stronzo) went studs up into his face. We have pictures of this and perhaps this on film. Will try get a pic in, uncle steve should have it.
