Agree - games between these two are always good to watch. IMO they're two of the best ball playing sides in Welly - they don't play much long ball

Yeah should be good, olympic played them in pre season beting miramar by two goals to one! Looking for Olympic to creap a 1-0 / 2-1 win.

olympic will  be a man down in defence after having one of their central defenders sent off in the chatham cup tie on the weekend. should be an interesting game though, olympic have some real attacking flair

Let me guess, it was Barry Lewis.

Its no longer a problem.

An educated guess Toffeeman

He has had his a fair share of red cards over time, thats for sure, but this one was just a ridiculous reffing decision. The clown of a ref seemed to be targeting the olympic players right from kickoff.

Thank God , some one who knows what there talking about. Yeah Olympic seemed to be targeted from the beginning. But ths week edn will be the same as always. The refs hate the Greeks, plain and simple.

didn't know Barry was Greek. I'm sure he never deserves his bookings.
Miramar 2-1, their experience will pull them through

No doubt Barry is a 'chainsaw' at the back and deserves his reds, but normally refs target the greeks. PLUS the ref we had during the naenae game was the same ref that ref'd the seconds olympic game against the same naenae team.

The ref gave an offside call in the chatum cup game when sideline ref had flag down and the ball cam off defender!!! AND THEN to make matters worse he pulled a red on barry and tried to call a foul inside the box as having happened one meter outside!!!!

Its a joke.

Leave the Ref's alone, if the ball deflected off a player it will not put the offside player on side so he can play the ball. But if a defender plays the ball back it's game on. Complex rules are hard to justify to the puplic watching. Its like all the hand ball calls from the side line if its unsited by ref or AR what can they do, it is a big field out there.

But yes the rivalry between Miramar and Olympic must be legendary. How many preseason games have to have sin bins!

The line-o had his flag down who had a way better vantage point than the ref. it was totally biased.

Miramar had simular situation but AR flaged after ref gave goal. After discussion goal disallowed. Rangers player coming back ball deflected off defender(not played at) Miramar score,NO. It is always a hard call fans never like it.   Did AR talk to ref or did he just return to his job?

I would agree that miramar are a good team and will be there abouts at the end but that would be expected when you've brought half of wellington for your centenary year. local derbies always bring out the best and worse on team so heres hoping for a top game this weekend.

Even with olympic having a few players missing I still think the players, supporters will really dig deep and send Costa off with a win so lets all get down to newtown and support Costa and the rest of the olympic team

With Raf and Barry out tis going to be a uphill battle the whole way but well outlast them with Costa taking a double to down miramar 2-0.

Are you going to hold your breath until the decision is overturned?

Biased?  I'm yet to meet a ref who wants one team to win over another.  It may be a bad call but let's leave it at that...

But in my humble opinion I think 1-1, both teams have been conceding a wee bit of late and a draw will be a decent result for both of them.

I thought if the ref was a faggot he would have supported the poncy little bubbles - given a free-kick every time one of them squealed like a little girl when they were tackled, maybe even come into the changing room at half time to talk about your pretty little mullets and trendy ("I wanna be a gansta") caps tilted over 1 eye.

If you bubbles complain this much when you win, I can't wait to see you comments here on Monday.........

In the games I have seen so far Raf de Gregorio has been the most protected player on the pitch.  Against Wests he certainly drew a lot of soft fouls.  And you really haven't explained why this ref would want Olympic not to win, especially at 4-1 when the result was a foregone conclusion?

Anyway, let's just hope that it doesn't come down to refereeing on Sunday.  And I'd encourage everyone to get out and watch this local football.  Some great old rivalries, and some top players...

Plain and simple, your a dickhead. If your going to personally attack us because we like certain trends and dont go for the redneck chewing tobacco look then thats your problem. Lets keep this to talk about football and not how people act and dress, thats theyre problems not yours so stay the f**k out.

AND if your calling olympic divers you might want to look a bit closer to home my friend.

He ref'd da Olympic reserves Naenae game. Appartly he wasnt too fair over there so i guess he carried over his animosity towards the players to the club match vs Naenae. Called some stupid fouls and let some obious ones go.

AND during the Reserves game our first team coach played himself and had a row with one of our players and kickd him to the ground and ref came over and gave the guy who got kicked a red card. Wierd.

The coach kicked his own player to the ground? Wierd. Maybe if you had a different coach you wouldn't get red cards..

Heathcote was! He was the one who snapped and kciked his own player injuring him for 3-4 weeks. Craig Hopkins is now Head Coach.

jeepers. Did he get axed for just that then? What is Hopkins' experience?

Heathcote booted me up the arse a few years back when I was on the ground. Then headbutted my team-mate. Got smashed out himself though. Funny stuff

uncle steve you are mistaken

the ref that reffed our game vs olympic reserves was not the same ref that reffed us against the olympic 1st team. trust me I would remember, I played both games :)

if you really want to talk discipline then well that capital one game was really a dissapointment for olympic, 9 cards ( two to naenae ) and 2 send offs ( both olympic ). personally I thought half those young guys deserved a bloody boot up the ass the way they conducted themselves that game. olympic lost that game because they self destructed themselves.

can't talk much about the olympic spectators either,  being called an inbred was rather amusing, I thought it really went far to show those guys intelligence, which evidently was none, was dissapointed that the olympic coaching staff said nothing to them either when it was going on right in front of their faces. not too mention the substitute that thought it would be amusing every time he got the ball to biff it back at me as hard as he can, which funnily wasn't very hard at all..

just on a side note, yeah the olympic boys do have a slight lean towards the metrosexual side of things! alot of gelled up hairdo's and funny coloured boots floating around, but all good to ya if you wanna show some style, not really my thing though lol.

anyway I pick a 2-2 draw

I never knew this became the Beat Olympic to sh*t threads.

I Apologize for getting the ref thing wrong, but to go and call Olympic Metrosexuals is another thing, if you wanna start getting into racism thats for another day and i would gladly discuss it another time.

I was told from the Olympic reserves players that during the game the naenae players were saying racist things to them especially the back line. Calling them greezy greeks and cheats. If thats the way Naenae conduct them selfs fine but dont make us look like the bad guys.

Well just let our football do the talking...

Capital 1 - Olympic Reserves / FIRST

Central League - Olympic 1st's / SECOND.
