Used to be THE game of the year in the 80s and early 90s...not so
much any more sadly and United have drifted a little off the pace
but they have had excellent players and periods back in the 80s.
They were the benchmark that Miramar chased and eventually
overtook.

I remember watching this clash at Centennial uin about 1992, when
the Miramar fans turned up with an orange coffin. United won
2-1 and the whole team celebrated in front of those guys, very
funny times...

I think Wellington United showed we aren't push overs. It wasnt
even like we played well. I had my worst game of the season infact
and they still couldnt score. Eddy Mason could have had two aswell.

easy to not conceed with a 11 man defence and not attacking but
kicking it long.

Rangers played well in the first 45 and should have had at least 3.
Second 45 was awful.
Credit to United though, they did their job. Will need to
bring in some players if they want to challenge for the title
though.
