I can understand a team being pissed off. Not being there I can't give details of the refs performance. But have heard it wasn't great.

While I'm sure they aren't enjoying being bottom of the table. I can see how this match wouldn't make them feel better with a ref that is making poor decisions..

Also Upper Hutt have lost alot of good players this year and are struggling to be competitive.

More excuses. Referees are not the reason that they are not in the form they were last year.
They owe Sunday's  referee, and themselves, a big apology!!

Excuse me while I choke on my coffee. The ref, and the AR's are the ones who owe BOTH teams an apology

I'm sorry, but from what I heard about the game. The ref and the Linesman were terrible and there would be no way the players would apologies to them for anything!

You're excused, to a degree,  as I think you have a relative playing (that right?) and can be forgiven for your bias.

No I wasn't, however I am friends with people in the team. So am taking their word and standing up for them in the face of poor refereeing.

Referees are not up to the standard of football in any league played here in Wellington.  But they do there best.  I do have to question why they send young boys out to do these central league games though.  Wouldn't it be more beneficial for them to start a few grades down were its a bit slower pace and maybe more social than competitive.

UH isn't were they would like to be on the table but the young side they have this year is improving and gaining valuable experence.  Im sure they want and will get the results they are after to stay up.  It doesnt help there cause though when you get decisions that look obvious to all watching wrong.

I watched Brooklyn vs Wgtn UTD and the last goal to UTD was 5 yards offside, Brooklyn appealed, linesman put up his flag and ran down the touchline looking all confused, then he looked around a bit before putting the flag back down and looking around again to see if anyone had noticed....WTF

Ripped off Brooklyn you did enough to win that..

hey guys

im a referee, i do the Upper Hutt womens central league games alot, as well as other teams, and im 16 (just) . trust me, you cannot blame the refs for everything. ill be honest i have made a few mistakes reffing in that grade before and also have the linesman ive had, but its harsh to blame us for the outcome of the games as we do our best to make them fair, but at the end if the day if we effect the outcome of the game, we apoligise, if we dont and you lose and still complain, not our problem

do you think Central League deserves better than 16 year officials who make mistakes?

they deserve referees who are capable of doing that level game, just remember every ref no matter how goood or bad will make mistakes. age isnt a restriction

Cause the 16 year old players in Central League never make mistakes?

Wharf beat Upper Hutt 7-0 in somewhat less than mild conditions at Te Whaea.

We had the best of Te whaea with the 11.30 ko. Gutted to lose to Marist though, we had the better of them but let in a soft goal. Here's hoping Wakefield # 2 will be warmer next week.

The 16 year old player has probably been involved in football for more than a few months though. Probably started in a division lower than CL too..

Every one starts low, its just like a player. as soon as they think your good enough, you will get called up to play for the first team. as soon as they think your good enough to ref WCL you ref it, simple as

5-2 to Wharf in the Cup v Massey. 2-1 down with about 15 to go. Enjoyable game to watch.

Massey lady talking bollox all day behind me including having a whinge when they were behind and had to wait two seconds for a ball when we had 9 (midget) ballboys, 7 game balls, and Massey have never supplied ball boys in their life.

Don't know if it's the same lady, but there was one net to me that wouldn't shut up the whole game trying to sound knowledgeable about the game although she knew next to nothing about football.

Was tempted a few times to say something to her to shut her up, but thought in the end the girls would do that for me on the pitch. Looked dicey at one stage in the second half, but they did in the end.

The quote had nothing to do with the game as you know.  It was about your hysterical rant about Wn U's Pom.  You are getting really desperate to blow your trumpet aren't you?

But back on the subject, The greater wgtn area will have to wait a few more years to have the player base to make the central leaguet more competetive over a greater number of teams.

well I dont think expanding it like some people were in favour of is an option.
Maybe Mr Blobby has a few ideas

As long as the best players are strongly encouraged to move to Auckland if they wish to be a part of NZ representative teams, this will continue to be a problem.

Since I didn't see it - No.
I do, however, congratulate you and the team on what you are achieving this year. Good to see.  I do not believe it gives any of you the right to rubbish anyone else's efforts - even if its not my team or club.
